I have swapped K10A turbo in my Khyber. I broke one turbo on motorway. It was making loud sounds but these local mechanics said its turbo own sound. I couldn't inspect it myself.
I replaced the turbo with stock one from shuba bazar. In my first pull, I heard the same screaming sound again and told the mechanic turbo isn't good but who can beat them in discussion. I broke it again on motorway. I was driving normally.
When I told the mecahnic about this. He said yes these turbos are very weak
. Now I am thinking of adding 4E turbo to it. What issues I can face? A few things I am aware of.
I will get turbo boosting up at 4k rpm (with smaller turbo it was 3k rpm)
I will reduce the boost as 4E turbo has adjustable wastegate.
I will need customized oil and water piping as the stock doesn't fit with 4E turbo. Guide me on this. From where can I get those flexible pipes?
As I won't be adding more boost than stock, I won't be needing to change anything in wiring etc right?
I am ready to make changes in engine bay to give space to new turbo. The stock turbo is at front of engine. Should I do custom headers and place turbo to the left of engine (left when standing in front of engine)? Also I was thinking of bringing then intercooler to front. I have a scoop in hood for the intercooler which I am not much fond off.
