AOA Guys,
I have a 2011 Suzuki Swift Manual gear, and for the past month, I’ve noticed an issue. When I shift from idle to drive and press the accelerator, the car initially bogs down before picking up speed. Similarly, when I shift into 2nd gear and accelerate, the car hesitates for a moment before running smoothly. However, once it gets going at high speed, there are no issues.
Additionally, if I rev the engine while the car is idle, it also bogs down briefly for a second before taking the throttle properly. Apart from this, I’ve rarely noticed that the idle RPMs drop slightly, but this happens very rarely.
I took the car to a mechanic who checked the spark plugs and found them to be fine. He also tested the ignition coils in Desi way by shorting them to the body and said they were fine too. (Personally, I believe there should be a proper technical way to check the coils, like using a multimeter.)
After cleaning the spark plugs and coils, the mechanic suggested that the issue might be due to a weak fuel pump. He mentioned that if the engine bogs down once when accelerating and then runs fine, it’s a sign of a weak fuel pump. However, I haven’t had the fuel pump checked or replaced yet.
Can you guys suggest what the issue might be and how I can confirm it with a proper test?
