Swift 2011 new tyres

need suggestions whether i should go for new michellin tyres( energy saver ) 195/55/15 in stock alloys...
orignal tyres are bridgestone turanza 185/60/15.

reasons for the change are:
1) smooth ride( as the ride is too hard in stock tyres )
2) better grip
3) and specially i want my ride to be little lowered..

guys plz suggest me whether the chnge shld be necessary in terms of above reasons and also tht petrol avg is nt affected and if thre r any drawbacks of the above size plz shre it with me..

Bridgestones are superb. No need to change IMO.

Like above PW members; i would also refer Bridgestone Turanza tyres. They are the best in their class and comply all the reasons that you have quoted in your post. So i am sure you need not to change them.

try not to no to change, keep tyre pressure max 28 PSI x4s Bridgestone is GOOD and suits the local road conditions.

if at all urge surpass the NEED go for 175/55/15 Yokohama for better fuel efficiency and low profile

1 more thng wat shld be the correct tyre pressure as company suggests 33psi in frnt and 30 in rear tyres with 3 people... and 33 in frnt and 38 in rear if 5 people :o

it seems very odd to me... but thre might be sme reason for thz tyre pressures coz whenever i m on motorway with 28psi in all 4 thn i feel loss of control and lack in performance but nt in the case with default tyre pressure

Driven door pillar should have a sticker about tire size and air pressure. Stick to that please. Dont listen to any body else.

Other then that 28psi would soften ur ride a bit, Where are 33 Would stifen it a bit.

tyre pressure shall be set during mornings in cold tires. air expands with temperature and shrinks when cold. - TEST - select a place to inflate all 4s to 33 in morning, carry on your usual drive pattern of the day come back in evening same spot & check the pressure.

if user manual suggested 33 ~ 30 stick to that with factory recommended tyres for optimum traction & stability.

Swift suspension is stiff by design. Tyres are not at fault. Don't waste money. Stock tyres are as good as michelin energy. City drive can be improve by filling 30 psi in all 4 tyres at cold. Pressures mentioned at sticker for all cars are cold tyre pressures.

driver door pillar suggest 33 frnt and 30 rear whn nt loaded.. wat do u thnk shld i stick to pillar or 30 will be ok coz the swift frnt side is lifted upwards normally and whn u load it up it moves further..

Bro,by using tires with the specs u mentioned above ur ride will be lowered by .3 inches. Moreover the width will be increased. So with these changes its better to stay with the stock tires.

Bridgestone turanza are among the harder compound tyres. If u need a softer and quieter ride, go for uokohama dna db or advan db. I installed 195/60R15 dna db in my swift a few weeks back and im really happy with the results!! And i wld advise u not to lower ur car further because swift does not hold its height well with ppl in the back seat and tends to get hit on the underside. 195/60R15 is the perfect size...trust me on this one.

i m nt gng to lower my ride through springs... my point was tht i go 4 195/55/15 so tht the height of my ride can be lowered... hope it is cleared
