Tachometer Malfunction - Toyota 2C Diesel

I have a Toyota Tamaraw (South East Asia model only) powered by a 2C diesel engine and my tachometer have been acting up lately.

It would work every cold start upto about 8-15 minutes then it will suddenly drop dead.

I have checked the tach circuit itself but didn't find anything wrong or busted or any crossed wires.

Screws are fairly tightened (not too tight) and contacts are clean. I also checked the terminals and all are in good condition and I think I've probably eliminated the basic possibilities.

What could be issue?

check the rpm sensor at the pump, its a 2 wire sensor that reads the governer teeth.

Seems like it mulfuctions after the car engine reaches specific temprature. Dose your car have some Electronic controler for on board automation ? and have obserevd if its stop working wen temp gauge reaches any specific position ?

Conventional diesel my friend, the Tach sensor is in the Injection Pump as @xulfiqar mentioned.

I will be checking once not busy, driving kids to school everyday

I m just asking coz Nissan CD 20 has Eelectronic controller which manages all Electronics inteligently except the Fuel Injection.

picking up on an old thread but could you please help me with wiring the 2c rpm sensor into an aftermarket rpm guage, the sensor has 2 blue wires, how n where do i wire them pls help @Xulfiqar
