Tappet Adjustment of Liana

I m facing problem in pickup while running the car in A/C on. I have get the car inspected from suzuki, mechanis says it needs to adjust the tappet of the cars and it will costs u about 2500 just for tappet adjustment. he said that tappet are tight that's y u r facing problem. he also said if u did not get it adjustes it can harm ur engin.
kindly advise how much he is right and how the tappet are adjusted as he tappet will be adjusted by some sort of 'KHARADIA', i cant understand is they will moose the tappet or some other way.

dont have any idea abt ur peoblem but i wont suggest to go any KHARADIA, its better to visit any good suzuki workshop.............

suzuki people says that they did'nt get it corrected and you have to get it solved from somewhere outside. dont know y?

If there is a problem in tappet than your car temprature increase very quickely.
and as far as i know new car (Mileage less than 40,000 KM) dont need tappet adjustment.

i may be sounding a fool here, but liana (m13) is dohc, and it think that there are no tappets in dohc, instead the cam directly above the valve spring and retainer, shim.

though i stand here to be corrected

may b u r correct, coz i dont feel any thing wrong with the temp. may b i feel air/oil mix problem in cng, coz i face this proble in cng, but that suzuki person told that u need to adjust tappets as it also sounds like tick tick tick when it is on cng.

I think liana has tappets as the mechanic open up the engin bay and tested the tappets adjustment with some sort of shrims (small steal strips) and told that tappets are tight and need to b adjusted

Liana tappet adjustment is a specialist job because you need special shims under the camshaft lobes to adjust the valve clearance. But for any car driven less than 40K kms, this adjustment is too early.
In any case you can check/inspect valve clearnace by using only the standard feeler gauge. So I suggest first you only inspect the valve clearance and if you find any problem then go for adjustment and use proper shims to adust it.
Also please note that valve clearances are inspected properly only when engine is cold.

Tappet adjustment times are over my dear friend... I would suggest you write to customercentre@paksuzuki.com with your query, they will answer you quick, also tell thm what the service centre guy told you...

I have checked it from suzuki and they said the tappets are tight and need to loosen but this work will be done by some sort of 'KHARADIA', lol, dont know wot they want to do with my car.
wot if i run the car in same condition??? how much it is harmful???

Tappet adjustment is a generic term usually refered to valve clearance. In modern Engines actulay tappets dosent exists but the cam follower serve the same purpose.
In rocker type mechnisim the valve clearance is adjusted with the hepl of nut/screw setup(Tappet) while in later engines the Shims are used on top of the cam follower & Shims thikness is the key part of adjustment process.

In your case if the first u need to confirm it either its tappets fault or some thing else. The valve clearance checking procedure is already described by @ehalin. Valve clearance can be adjust by grinding the shim or u can also get new shims of required thickness.
BTW Shim grinding process is the part of Kharadia Job.

As i can see, your car may be still under warantee, just claim it with Suzuki... they have to do whatever that is wrong, but i tell ya dear, I don't thing ts the tappet...

Its most probably the ECU that has to be refreshed.. they have to re install the sofware.. I have seen some owners have the same problem and as soon as they refreshed the ECU, it was solved.. don't let them play with your engine bro..

i have already posted the problem to the suzuki people today, lets c if the return back with some sort of responce.
I have get it checked by the most experienced suzuki mechanic in faisalabad, he told me that its tappets fault and after get it inspected he said tappets are tight and it needs to b loose.

yes, my car has ff cng, its liana rxi cng, 35k km done

Dont get the tappet adjusted or what ever, refer to previous PW posts regarding LIANA-CNG pickup problems. all thats required is ECU re-flashing to solve the pickup issues. Schedule an appointment with PAK-SUZUKI and get it done ASAP. Best of luck!

Bro The Shim grinding Job would be done by Khradia (Machinest) but removing shim from engine & etc shud be done by Car machanic.

New Shims for diffrent thicknes are available in market & u can bought new one with required thikness instaed of grinding old one.

But whole this process is required if the fault is sure due to valve clearance. other wise as other members are saying it might be the fault of ECU.

Yar Pick Problem is not related with Tappet tightness, did u checked ur CNG Settings as car getting proper Fuel Mixture.

Get some suggestions from private Mechanics n than decide waht to do.
