One should always avoid such confrontations on the streets, but Taser seems to be a better option, easy storage, easy access and threat to attacker. Baseball bats are cumbersome and dont offer much security.
Even for Tasers, it has limited use, since people who gather to beat up the bigger car guy on the road are too many to even tase 
as the incidents of murree you mentioned, you saw the crowds who gather, how many one could have crippled with taser before the mob beats the shit out of you as your taser runs out of juice.
Still for one on one situations its good.
One thing that works for me and even keeps people away at traffic signals is heads of two large ass rottweilers hanging from open windows of rear seat.
