
ABOUT SHELL ECO-MARATHON
Shell Eco-Marathon is the international stage where student teams from around the globe compete with their energy-efficient vehicles. Organized in the Americas, Europe and Asia, the event hosts one of the most appreciated gatherings of young engineers who are all aspired to push the frontiers of fuel efficiency. The further a car goes using least amount of energy, the higher it climbs up the ranking list.
This year, event will be organized in the start of July.
ABOUT TEAM HAMMERHEAD ARC
Team consists of a number of students studying in different engineering disciplines at GIK Institute. Inducted through competitive selection criteria, each individual has brought unique set of skills to the team. It is worth mentioning that the team is entirely organized and managed by student members with guidance from academic staff only when required. However, team has been provided access to a number of facilities and specialized equipment by the Institute.
ABOUT GIK INSTITUTE
Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI) is one of the most prestigious engineering institutes of excellence in the field of engineering. For the last 4 years, teams from GIKI have successfully participated in Shell Eco Marathon, achieving milestones in various areas including design, manufacturing and communication. Team Hammerhead ARC intends to uphold this legacy of accomplishment.
PAST ACHIEVEMENTS

2009, Germany: Team Exodus from GIKI was awarded an honorary mention in the communications and marketing awards category.

July, 2010 & 2011, Malaysia: Team Aqua held a national record of about 90 kmter in SEM Asia 2010 & 2011. With a carbon-fibre monocoque, Team Aqua I and II also qualified the design and safety awards.

July 2012, Malaysia: Team Hammerhead has achieved big with a mileage of over 270 kmter. That is 3 times the mileage any Pakistani team has ever achieved. A highly aerodynamic fiber-glass body and a lightweight aluminum chassis made even the shell supervisors at the Sepang Circuit eulogize the engineering design of the car.
