Posted on this page was a section on refueling. This is where the first DIY took place.
We filled Tora Bora (blue Pajero) up to the brim, only to notice that whatever fuel was being topped up was dripping down the tank and getting wasted on the floor. It is then that we realized that I had changed a fuel pump recently, and the mechanic has used Silicon to seal the tank from the pump entry. Note to self, petrol and silicon equals not such a happy marriage.
So a couple of things were done by Bash and Kashif, they undid the entrance to the fuel tank, and used Magic to seal as much as possible. When the magic dried, they applied Silicon on top to ensure a lasting bond. Little did we know that it wouldn't work for the rest of the trip. I hate Islamabad mechanics!!!
