Guys, whats the loading capacity of these 421 and 406 Unimogs? Apologies if I got the numbers wrong but I mean the two which are more redily available out here.

in Pakistan Army following loading capacity allowed for these variants.
421 called 1.25tons
406/416 called 2.5tons

my chassis plate says 421 has the loading capacity of 2tons but that is inclusive of rear bed. i think the allocated loading capacity by Army is right. but again will check them for you

Thanks DeeDee. So that means that with a 421 it is possible to remove the rear bed and fabricate a flat bed for hauling a 1.5 ton rally jeep to Cholistan and stuff.... Or alternatively use the mog to carry a rock buggy to Sheosar lake and climb up the mountainside

There's a flat bed variant of 421 available with our Military which can full-fill your purpose, though it has restricted articulation to add stability with load, rest of the features are common - Its stock length is around 8 feets and width is 6 feet, if you can park something in these dimensions then Go for it, and you still have room to extend the length, extending width is not recommended!

I am not much of a contributor to Pakwheels, but you see, this is no ordinary thread neither are these ordinary machines.

I always wanted & planned to own a Nissan Petrol as an off roader, but your Mogs & you guys have seriously made me a Mog Fan.

If & when I am in a position to own an off roader, I have a hunch it won't be the Nissan

Hats off to your dedication & resilience, just like the Mogs kept plugging away for decades in any & all terrains, I believe these achievements (buying, restoring, mogging & mogging to the highest place a vehicle can go) are a testament to your spirits, its just one of those things that you can't create, it has to be there.

I strongly believe these Mogs can go & compete with anyone, anywhere in the world.

I personally have a great respect for Nissan Patrols for its purpose, however Mog is very a different category. If you really want to start on a mog then this is the best time to acquire 1 and start your project!

Work started with the support of the panga team ( adeel Khalid ) . For now lessons of patience started. Another friend who is a very busy man with 2 dying unimogs checks the update on and off and gives words of wisdom.
