I've been reading this thread for almost a week, straight, and now that I've finally come to the last post (for now, hopefully not forever!), I've actually run out of accolades to pay.
The commitment, dedication, devotion, and sheer love of the sport is amply evident from the way you've painstakingly nurtured your beast...but more than just that, is the way this thread has evolved into a meeting place of the like-minded. On that score alone, you deserve kudos. And then some.
A similar labour of love (for me, at least) is a 2003 TLC FZJ79 that I'm in the process of "re-birthing" (for lack of a better word). Having seen the effort you've put into chronicling the remaking of your Unimog, I feel a tinge of regret, at not having captured every moment of the recreation process for my truck. I must admit, too, that if my project is even HALF as successful as yours, I'll be a happy man.
Congratulations on a wonderful thread, that captures the bronco spirit of the offroad community in general, and the high-octane madness of the crazy bunch of individuals who drive Unimogs, in particular!
Respect.
