Well surprise everyone !!! Finally you can see the true colors of DOCMOG we had a nice collection of colorful Unimogs Green,Blue,Yellow,Black and only PINK was missing (H)

I read with great interest the postings on this thread. I do not have a Mog (yet) but you never know. Can someone explain why is there a need to find axles? Do they wear prematurely? or is it just that the Mog they go into was purchased used from the army auction. The impression I have of a Unimog is a rugged vehicle that should last forever if it is had fun with over the weekends and such. Am I off the mark in assuming so? What kind of maintenance do you guys do on a regular basis? Lets say what part(s) is most likely to break down on your mog?

I would appreciate a response from the 'regulars'

@nmshaikh you heard right Mog is for life and axles made to last forever. Discussion on axles related to some transplant with jeep or FJ if I guess right. Only maintenance required is around 15ltrs of gear oil change in gear box , hubs, axles and for years u won't need to change again because of low mileage being hobby ride. Regular maintenace as simple as any other car. Drum brakes need regular service. Once restored properly you won't need to visit workshop soon.

And those battery kill switch you sent, working great on our Mogs :).

yes i did, not the full gear box but yes shift plate to save me of extra gearing in mountains.
