DeeDee this is great. Your Unimog looks in excellent condition and you will see once it is painted it will look whole lot better. Being in the project (Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser 82) myself, expect three to four months for this project. Don’t rush it and get the things done right first time!

I am currently abroad but perhaps we will get together once our vehicles are done.

sir i am of same opinion to get the work done right 1st time. its been a month and m satisfied with the progress so far. i am enjoying the phases of restoration.

my father supported me a lot thats why he was with me there late in night.

I have always been a huge fan of unimog and the G's and have owned two of them abroad.

I just saw ur thread and found it very delightful! Good to know that you found original absorbers for it and didnt do the desi thing!!

Just a bit of advise... the tyres you have on it... get rid of them asap!! you mog is nothing without good soft mud tyres.

These tyres were the main cause of the mog not living upto its reputation of the 5th of oct. I invited the mog to that event since hes a friend. I know finding good tyres in that rim size is gna be a serious challenge but you gota get new ones!!

I hope ur truck turns out to be like the ones on the web!! I seriously do!

dear i wittnessed the same event with you and i was there when unimog came from the back side of track 2 and didnt make it because of poor tyres. i have planned to change tyres only if i could get a good deal. do suggest the place where to find and tyre type.

pic of shocks uploaded was the orignal but were replaced with gabreil shocks, they are 2"to3" extended giving a flexible articulation. it has 3 adjustment level from soft to hard and harder. hope they will turn out good on the rig.

aisheikh (Arsalan) came today to have test ride of unimog.

than he realise that he came early and still the cabin to be fitted on the chasis. so he had only photo session and no test drive.

I don't really know the place but I will be on the look incase I find anything suitable. whats the rim size btw?

About the absorbers... as long as you havn;t changed the suspension geometery.. its all good! And I dont know much about gabriels.

Are you in Lahore of Isloo? And where is this workshop?

names Adeel Khalid, yes i was there with my cousin Rizwan bhai (cotec) and found that there were only 2 of us interested to know the capabilities of this beast. I agree only the tyres need replacment. let me know if you find a good deal, rim size is 9x20.
