now the major work done as off engine and suspension, electric work is underway,

adding one more lever to gear box,

on sunday have a soft offroading but still have to feel what this monster is capable of.

Whats wrong with the brake system?

jeeaholic, i have still not finalise to change the brake system, yes looking for different options.

unimog421 has drum brakes powered by master brake cylender independent from engine (thats good because i can use brakes on slopes with engine off).

sir brakes are very hard, i have 2 options: 1- join gym again and workout on my thighs 2-install servo with boster driven by generator (thats bad because brakes will not work on slopes with engine off).

purpose of restoring mog is purely offroading, what do you suggest option 1 or 2 or something else?

Option 2 is better.

Its not that if you install the servo you won't be able to used the brakes with the engine off. Its just that the power assistance will not be available with the engine off and they will be like the option1.

But atleast they will be much softer with the engine running.

charged you are right and i also have operative hand brake with new cables.

i am looking for option 2 as well. will update on the alteration. (that would be 1st alteration till now)

I have tested brakes today and they are definitely DANDA brakes. need improvement

about the brake.. i think drums are not that bad.. they should be reasonable.. i suggest give the master cylinder and all brake cylinders a thorough servicing.. may b some stuck piston etc.. very common in old brakes... but brake has to act as a brake be it manual or assisted

dear servicing of master have already been done and rest subordinating cylenders are brand new but still DANDA. so as you say, "brake has to act as a brake" than i believe option 2 is the destiny.

i hav an idea for the paint job but dont know u ll like it or not n m reluctant to share it as fellows may laugh over it but that will be a unique thing if u do it may be cheaper as well
