I wanted to ask you about the work done on your mog, as my father has bought one in Peshawar. Who is the specialest on the machine, I believe it is in good condition. Excellent sharing @ Janj. 1500 & 1300 are the big bros & electronic switches makes it very simpler to use & tougher to fix

It was nice talking Shah Sb, yes I was away on my annual leaves. Had a nice chat with your father as well, he told me about the 3 Mogs they have picked, 1 soft-top 421.128 (to be kept on the farm house for normal visits), 1 ambulance 421.129 U600L (to be converted into a caravan) & 3rd mog will stay in Peshawar. He shared the story on how he developed interest on Unimog back in early 60s when 1 of his friend imported Mog's early model with agricultural implants, he kept on looking at the military and finally after 50 years he got it :). Pls request any of younger cousins here to take some pictures of the new mogs and share this on the punga thread!

Boy dont think of importing, models available in Pakistan are:
1) 421.128 U600L long wheelbase topless
2) 421.128 U600 short wheelbase topless
3) 421.129 U600L long wheelbase hardtop camper
4) 416 long wheelbase topless
5) 416 long wheelbase hardtop
6) 406 long wheelbase hardtop
7) 417 hardtop

you can search these models on net and see the model the interests you most.

we have seen few U1550L and U1300L both Doka camper, these mogs came with some German NGO for earthquake relief work in north.

the classic model of Unimog 411 is still working in WAPDA. these mogs came in 1950s.

considering the above models in Pakistan, we are very rich but unfortunately only 4 are in active civilian hands rest are with Mog Killers.

This was a very sad seen in Lahore 2 weeks back, very unfortunate and only in Pakistan. No one cut & melt down mogs like this!

Most recent was German forums on which Team Unimog was engaged on research on how far can we go on 421 variant. Unimog-Community.de :: Das Internet-Portal rund um den Mercedes-Benz Unimog und MB-trac is one of the biggest resource on 421s but there's a language barrier, Team Unimog has managed that and now we are trying to do it the way Germans do :).

Guru G some discussion is under way on 421 steering conversion to power steering of 416 on this thread as well. i was amazed to see the concern of moggers on saving and helping the moggers without commercialism. Moggers ki jayhooooo...

Here's the German thread from Team Unimog Pakistan chapter initiated few days back :). We are getting excellent support from German Community, and hopeful to get the pictures of 421 Original Power Steering which came in as factory fitted along with part number etc. And I agree with DD the moggers community is always there to help!

In addition to that another blast from past...We now Have production figures of 421 series along with some other interesting stuff.

The replacement from 2.5 ton is at-least 30 KG heavier on one corner. American says its possible since they are into modifications and fabrication and attempted this on 404, German Says don't do it due to extra weight, we have to listen to them who made Unimog

Now this also some seriously good information for moggers, Our Military was buying them in bulk from 1981 - 1986. Check Out the total numbers produced 421.129, they probably all came to Pakistan. Right now both 421.128 & 421.129 are extremely rare around is globe since Pakistan is the only country which had them in bulk and which are now cut down by the killers :(. Looking at the numbers these mogs are collector item!

Agreed Bash and considering this corner is also driver side, moreover DeeDee and Bash are the century maker in gaining the 100kg weight. the jayish side of this transplant we need a navigator with the weight of Guru G to equal the math .

Bash check this link some serious discussion on upgradation of 421 steering to 416 power box and believe me there is no precedent to it. but Moggers all over the world are seriously giving input. remember you told me 404 and 421 has the same exchangeable box (bolt on solution). now my point is if Ustaad Brimski can put 406/416 box in his 404 then why not 421 but then i came to a conclusion after measuring the width of 416 chassis and found that its 3 inch wider than 421. huh 3 Inch is big difference. and we actually dont need this my big box for our 421s. keep searching and discussing with Unimog Gurus and will "See You In Naran"

SK its not only sad but its a biggest act of terrorism in the history of Unimogs and believe me Pakistan auctioned mogs are much cleaner then what i had seen in overseas auction. and newer models as well.
