As far as the ceramic brakes are concerned I still haven't driven a car equipped with them.

The 575 GTC you drove recently had ceramic brakes. No?

The ceramic brakes were still an option with the GTC package and the car that I drove didn't have them.

Thanks man! Prices vary quite a bit but an average 2009 599 is around $320K. Used ones with couple of thousand miles are available for around $255K.

Now that I think about it the electronic throttle bodies probably didn't even open up all the way when I floored the gas. But I will say that the system was seemless...in most cars you can tell when traction control is kicking in.

I think ceramic brakes have a different feel on the road, basically they suck until you get some heat into them.

Surprising thing about ceramic brakes is that Horacio Pagani didn't consider them fit for use on road cars since he didn't like how they acted when they were cold and the fact that they were very noisy - he chose big steel brakes. I think Brembo designed a special set of brakes for the Zondas for Pagani to try. And only now does he offer them as an option.

You know I always thought the same. I think at one point they did become part of the GTC package.

Yeah ceramic brakes are a bit extreme for the road but even steel brakes with high performance pads are noisy.
