On Wednesday Al Futtaim launched the latest 2013 Honda Accord in UAE through DSF branch Dubai. Just before the launch I happened to be there. @aamiryo is the business manager for the said branch, so he picked me up as the first guy to test drive the very latest. The moment the demo car arrived, I was ready to move in with my family. The smell of a new car is so addictive by the way!
Here I will share the experience with you guys as well.
To start with: the interior is quite fresh and updated. I prefer this to the old monkey face center console. For an entry level, it was quite feature packed having cruise control, volume buttons on steering, huge display for stereo, trip computer etc.
The interior overall is very well laid out. For a 6'2" guy with the seats up right, it still feels airy & roomy even in the rear quarters.
The exterior on the other hand is unmistakeably Honda except that the rear is more of a Hyundai, a Genesis to be exact.
Ride quality is quite improved over the previous version. It was quieter then the earlier model and much more smoother to drive. Another thing that hit me was that unlike earlier model, this one felt way more light and nimble, most probably due to electronic steering control.
On the performance side, I was told that it has more torque but I couldn't judge it since I drive a V6 Magna nowadays and I can't compare the 2.4 in-line 4 with it.
The rest of story will be told by the pictures.
