Test Drive of New Land cruiser V8 D4d

yesterday I test drove the new 2008 land cruiser, V8 D4d

here r sum pics of the SUV,

having a special love for diesel engines..it was obvious that i wud like the v8 powerplant, noise level is pretty low..and the engine idles at 500 rpm..

other than that i did not like the interior of the car..it does not makes me feel that i am driving sum sort of a high end SUV like.,, transmissoin was a 5 speed manual transmission with electronic control for 4X4 options..

than handling is much more like a car and not of a jeep, the torque of the engine is offcourse awesum, and it really takes off,

but personally if i were to buy an SUV , it surely wudnt be this 1,

well this sure is a downscale version with no optional features.. duznt even has alloy wheels..

abt D4D well D4d tech cannot be limited to number of cylinders(wud it b logical).. this 4 must be "for", otherwise it wudnt make much sense to me... but you might have a very good questoin with you.. as far as i know it stands for "direct Injection 4 Cylinder Common Rail Diesel"

I m not a fan of toyotas... so lets wait for a die hard toyota fan to answer this....shud it hav been D8D? lol..

V8 is simply there to tell the configuration...

nice SUV Just saw a same suv which was bumped from the back by a 95 civic very minimal damage to the jeep but the civic was ruined.

What abt the quality issues of diesel in Pakistan? I have read on numerous forums on pakwheels that D4D engines are a big failure in pakistan and your car engine gets messed up within 6 months time.

Now ppl who buy such expensive vehicles with d4d technology, how do they manage to save their engine?

What engine technology is used in BMW diesel version? Does it work with our locally available diesel?

i have a question, why ppl call series 100 and 200 fully loaded land cruiser a grand cruise there is no such thing called grand cruiser hv been in toyoya show in japan and USA
have seen concept cars and talked to toyotas front line team members including engin expertrs to first model test drivers no one knows abour grand cruiser
