The 1.3 VVTI engine is somewhat equivalent to 1.6DOHC of previous Corolla (Saloon)
man u cant even compare thse two.1.3L vvti engine is the same 2nz-fe just wid a vvti added.the power(hp) is 100% same.85bhp.nd it was the same for the previous model.so how can this b better then the 1.6L dohc?
New Corolla uses 4-Disc Brakes as compared to Drum brakes of previous XLI
yeah as many ppl told above,older xli has disc brake.havnt tested the brakes yet so cant say much.
The interior is certainly not out of this world and typical of Corollas. Conservative yet functional oriented, lacks the style and charisma that is often found in its class
u didnt liked the interior?well,thats totally ur opinion.i kinda liked it.the interior of previous one was so booring n ugly.but this one has a nice stylished balanced interior.nd the seats r much more comfortable nd soft too...(though a frnd,who got new xli told me that these seats induces back-ache on long drives)
Giving 9-12km per liter in city and about 18+ on highway
thats only the instantaneous fuel avg.not the real fuel avg.that can go as far as 25km/ltr or drop down to 6km/ltr.this real time display meter is not dependable at all.
well that was all ur opinion.i checked the car personally nd throughly as a friend bought it.i found the interior preety nice.much improved i wud say.infact,all of the car is much improved.better looks,better technology(if u can ignore the manual windows:P).i found the seats to b very comfortable.the speedometer was very beautiful.nd that real time fuel gauge,cant say how much of use it is,but its fun:) the inside space is a little bit improved.but the back seats r cramped nd ur head touches the roof if u r about 6'.in short,the interior was preety nice.the exterior looks better if u watch if frm sum distance:) but if u come near,the proportions seem to b abit odd.specially at the rear side.the sides of the bumper,the lights etc.front side is decent though.boot space is a joke though,u wil hav very very little space left if u put in cng cylinder in it.the engine is sluggish.very slow compared to the previous model.didnt drove it but the frnd told me this.the quality of plastic nd rubber used around n inside the engine bay is pathetic.the rubber was not fitted rightly too.dnt know wat wud it b like after 3-4 years.....
well that was my short review.in a nutshell,the xli is much more improved.but still dnt hav the few basic things it shud hav like rear seat arm rest nd power windows...
