The All New Corolla after all is answering back to the questions and criticism made on its predecessor. The new Corolla is certainly a newly designed vehicle with better braking system and increased fuel economy. I have bought my 1.3XLI about 2 weeks ago and so far the ride is fairly acceptable, especially keeping in view its price tag. The 1.3 VVTI engine is somewhat equivalent to 1.6DOHC of previous Corolla (Saloon) if not better. Suspension is of McPherson Strut, which is slightly more stiffed than previous version providing better stability while taking steep turns. As for the braking the New Corolla uses 4-Disc Brakes as compared to Drum brakes of previous XLI. The car is fun to drive even at 140Kmh, thanks to 195/65 R15 Tyre and Electronic Steering wheel. The interior is certainly not out of this world and typical of Corollas. Conservative yet functional oriented, lacks the style and charisma that is often found in its class. Controls are decent and room space is few inches wider. Basic audio system is not worth mentioning but the color scheme (Orange) matches with the rest of the Dash board and speed-o-meter lights, presenting a more balanced and appealing look. Fuel economy is perhaps the best feature of this car. Giving 9-12km per liter in city and about 18+ on highway. Fuel average varies a lot and involves many factors, so no need to take this part very seriously. Torque is average if not sluggish, but Hey! its not a Ferrari, its my family car. All in all its a good Car and certainly will win the hearts and minds of all the Corolla lovers around the WORLD. The car has something in it, that's why its the Worlds Top selling car.
