Yeah so did I. The guys who put together the system (http://www.petroconengineering.com) have their own fabrication and have provided the steel structure for flyovers in Pindi, so I just played it safe (wouldn't want the panels on the neighbour's roof after a storm!).

Isn't it very high as I have seen 1kw project is been offering between 175-200, I am also looking forward for a solar panel which can run 7 fans only.

The function of Solar panel is to convert solar energy into DC voltage 12 / 24. Larger the size of panel larger the POWER (WATTAGE) it can handle. directly proportional to charging time of batteries.

consider thumb rule - solar panels are source of charging batteries while the batteries via inverter are producing AC voltage. Higher the current (amperage) drain lower the back up time.

PKRs. 325000 is price of 1000 watt non-stop drain for 8 hours, lower the drain higher the backup time.

@hasooboy: There are several sources of losses in a solar PV setup (panels, wiring, charge controller, etc). You want to make sure you get efficient components that will actually save you money in the long run, otherwise a single part can reduce output of your system by 15-20%. Most of these 'packages' do not include price of batteries and use chopper-based UPS (homage etc) as the inverter.

You are right that Chinese solar panels are ruling the market. But all Chinese panels are not gold and neither are all Chinese panels crap. But the fact is that a majority of solar power sellers in Pakistan people are importing the cheapest panels money can buy without taking into account efficiency, quality and suitability. Most of these sellers are not concerned with aftersales support or warranty. Their only purpose is to make a quick buck by selling cheaply to illiterate people who are clueless about solar power. These are the kinds of panels that one should stay away from.

you are right,actually people import or smuggle cheapest chinese products which has led to very bad impression about chinese goods altogether

educate me please how long does 2400 watts (5 amp each panel) take to charge 300 amps when the ambient sunlight is less then 10 hours & your system batteries are draining as backup under load of 5000 watts give or take 75% load. - IF AC supply is not connected to support charge the batteries.

24 panels charging 2 batteries of 300 amp capacity
a 5 KVA inveter at full load connected to above configuration will not give you back-up of more then 95 minutes.

I dont think so....it will most probably destroy fan voltage regulators and other stuff just like any other ups/invertor system(other than perfect sine wave systems)...

If it is such a concern then you can use ward leonard method ie 12 DC motor mechanically coupled with an alternator of required voltage(Controlled field excitation) and frequency (fixed at contruction as depending on poles)
BTW the Voltronic Axpert MKS claims to be pure sine wave output and suitable for motor & appliances.
