Apc surt 2 kva is an online double conversation ups .. u can use 40 ah X 4 max to max ... its charger cant be enhanced from 1 ampere .. for longer backup go for apc sua 2200 which is a line interactive pure sine wave ups. . Sua 2.2 kva is also 48 v dc .. its charger can be enhanced from 10 to 20 amperes .. red light means fault / over load ... so when u try to use bigger rating battery its charger shuts down n fault light lits ....

can u please guide me any solution for this, can i use this ups because, i have purchased it from my friend, who have already gone to abroad.
What will be solution to use this ups. I am very thankful if you guide me regarding this.

thanks for reply sir, i am looking for a proper system for my house INSHA ALLAH.

I have some discussions today with one of the solar providers in karachi, according to him, the B&B inverter based ON GRID SYSTEM IS best for saving in the KE bill. the system will provide solar output in day time only and if the load is in excess of solar output, the system will automatically take remaining power from KE. If KE goes out (load shedding), the system will NOT WORK and a generator has to be manually started. At night time, the power from KE will be used. This system doesn't has any battery therefore operating cost is almost nil for next 20 years or so.
i want to get a proper system from a solid and knowlegable compnay with good after sales service as well as their help in APPROPRIATE SELECTION since this investment is made only once and the buyer expects good returns. cooperation from your side will be appreciated. thanks. salim

SURT is not for light phanka thing ....... its for critical machines like servers .. medical equipment etc etc ....... no doubt that this UPS is the most advance UPS but again if u want to use it for longer backups then u hv to discard it / sell it ..... n buy any other brand ups ..... i m only dealin in apc .... so i can only guide abut its solution . as i already told u before in previous post that SUA model in APC is used for longer backups ...... u can use ur 4 X 100 ah batteries with SUA model UPS ...... It ll give backup in hours ....... n charging ll be perfect .......

I was reading InfiniSolar specifications. Both InfiniSolar models require 4 12v batteries as they have 48v charger. Am i right? It will cost more compared to Axpert models.

Also what is the difference between Axpert mks and Axpert mks plus and what model do you recommend?

Yar use small 12 v batteries , i.e 80 amps *4 it will provide backup in case of load shedding and run infini too

I think in your situation, the best and 'hassle free' solution would be using 1 KVA inverter with 200 watts *2 Panels and 2 100Amp or even smaller battery.

Functionality:
During the day time, most of the load will run on Solar, batteries will provide for any shortage during the day because of clouds. (Also, batteries are required for support otherwise the system will keep resetting because panels never produce constant output, batteries are there to provide stability.

Agreed brother, using solar without batteries is like filling up a car with hole in the tank, the fuel keeps running out whether you use it or not, why to waste so much of energy when you are not using or storing it?
I would suggest to MUST HAVE batteries and use maximum during day. Don't waste.

Its very good that you are well informed about solar. First of all, for pakistan its best that you get a Hybrid inverter with good panels and sturdy batteries.
Now, why hybrid?
Hybrid inverter such as Infini are incredibly efficient inverters, they are built to provide maximum output from solar and compensate for excess load from grid (Wapda), while batteries attached provide backup during the power outage at nights. Along with this, inverter converts the DC to AC which runs our regular appliances. However, charge controller does not have this functionality, it can only control over charging the batteries, panels produce DC and if you dont install an inverter, your whole house would need to be run on DC which is not at all possible or feasible for that matter.
Having said that, inverters such as Infini have built in charge controllers while outback and schneider need separate charge controllers. In a nutshell, it depends on the type of inverter you are opting for.

There are some significant differences in Infini and Axpert inverters.
1) Infini has the capacity and functionality to mix and match, if your solar is producing 1000 watts while your load is 1500 watts, infini will take 1000 from solar and excess from the grid or batteries depending on the configuration set. Axpert doesnt have this option, if the load is more than solar output, Axpert will take all 1500 watts from grid. Hence, poor utility.
2) Axpert does not have grid selling option. If and when grid selling starts, people with Axpert installed will not be able to sell extra units to the government.
3) Axpert inverters have lower power factor, 3 KVA Axpert provides 2.4 KW of power while 3 KW infini provides 3 KW output.
4) Axpert support lesser panels as compared to infini. 3 KW Infini plus for example supports 4.5 KW panels.

Waqas I admire your expertise in this matter, what about MKS inverters? I find them best of all. I have been using it for the last one year and I must say that I am more than satisfied. I have five kVA system and it supports 3000 watts of panels. It gives me good back up in the night and during the daytime I can run two air-conditioners with all the load. I must say it's a delight to use that system and I've been using it during winters for heating. It is fully programmable and I'm very much satisfied with the performance. It has got 4 batteries of 200 amperes each.

In my view MKS is the best One to have. I'm using it for the last one year and I must say that it has been working very satisfactorily. No issues with anything and I am more than happy with that

And in addition to above as I have always been saying having a solar system without batteries is a like running a car with a hole I fuel tank, whether you use it or not the fuel is going to drain.

So why not to use all the energy that you are producing. Plus if later on you don't want the batteries you can just disconnect them & change the settings, a good inverter will never ask for batteries again and above all the price of an inverter with the Battery option and without the battery option is almost the same so why not to have an option with you and later on I f you don't want it just don't use it

i asked for the same system from one of the known solar solutions expert, he quoted 250k wtih 4-5 hours backup(on batteries)
