I've a question.
How do you guys clean your solar panels when they get dirty? Here in Karachi, due to mist and dust they get really dirty within a week. I've to get them cleaned every Friday.
We just use water pipe and try to clean them with a stream of water but it doesn't clean them properly.
What do you guys do?

I used water and cleans it with towel type piece of cloth and then wipe extra water with wiper thats it

You use hand or attach something to the towel?
Our panels are pretty high so can't use hand obviously, I tried attaching a pipe to a cloth but still it won't clean it properly.

U can use a wiper either wraped with towel cloth for longer distance and after that remove cloth and wipe extra water

What is the difference between kva and kw in solar.... Some say 1kw system and some 1kva system and another brochure which got states 1kv,2kv,10kv system???

Dear kva is small unit.
In AC current there is power factor usually 0.8 or 0.7.
This means 1kva x 0.7 = 700 watt.

Always check watts of system this way you can easily estimate how much load you can run..

This picture is either made by some less educated person or misprint.
There is nothing like KV.

If power factor is 1 which is in very expensive systems than kva = kw.

Looks like in above picture they want to say how much capacity you need to run respective appliances.

If you really want some good solar system than calculate your critical load (you want to run on solar) wattage.

See thier max wattage on labels/stickers etc.

Sum all wattage = your required solar inverter.

How much solar panel you need? Its little tricky.

Total required watts x no. Of hours you want to run that appliances (say 8 hr loadshedig time).

This will give you_____ kwh.

Deivide these kwh with 5 (sun hrs) = solar pannels you need.

Dear the above pic meant that these panels r in kilo volt ampere ... or in short kilo volt ... whereas our load that is lite fans etc we calculate in kilo watt or just say in watts ... just call n ask them that if thy hv 1 kva system then wot ll be the watts the panel contains ... 1 kva is not 1 kw cux of power factor ... if thy say 1 kva makes 600 watts then it means the power factor of the system will be like .6 and if thy say it makes 700 watts then .7 ... it just a bluff thing which lame people like us cud b trapped easily .. just get the above pic in watts n u ll no this ll b ur system ... batteries comes in amperes so also ask them that how many batteries ll be installed with each system .. for instance if 1 kva works with one battery then we call it a 12 v dc system ...

I need to get 1000watts hybrid solar system built with infini solar 3kva plus. I'll add more panel later and saturate the 3KW inverter over time but for the time being I want to start with 1000 watts produced throughout the day. I don't want the battery back up.

Please let me know what kind of panels I should get and how many.

I can state a simple calculation which might help you understand. This system will only help charge the batteries from Solar during the day. During the day wapda will be used which is not actually a proper solar power system. Hence, this system will only assist in charging batteries.
However if you install MPPT 3KVA AXPERT in place of charge controller and APC UPS then your bill will significantly reduce. During the day, 600 Watts load will run completely on solar and the system will also charge batteries for the load shedding

From where can i get dc breakers

The distance between Charge Controller and Load/Junction box must be minimized. otherwise you will face problem such as... volts drops, even volts seems ok to you but the load will not working properly due to low Current/Amps.

The distance between Panels and Charge Controller (for line lose) can be recovered with the help of heavy cable or by the usage of MPPT controller on same cable (ie; use panels in an array/series upto the VOC of MPPT-Controller, e.g. u are generating 72Volts from your panels and later mppt is converting it into 12volts-battery in this setup line losses will be minimized from panels to controller segment).

Always check breakers before you buy...
AC Breakers & DC Breakers.
Otherwise for a low-Volt system, use AUTO-Fuse as per requirments.

All these batteries are lead acid mostly.
Little difference in manufacturing style and working mechanism.

Gel are most efficient and AGM.
Other depends on its functions.

Gel n AGM are normally deep cycle.
In other types like flooded, vrla has both car battery and deep cycle too.

So for solar and ups always buy deep cycle.
If you have money go for GEL but also you need battery chargers which should work on GEL type.

DoD = depth of discharge.
Manufacturer recommend 80% DOD but it is costly so 50% DOD is optimal.
This means do not use battery for more than 50% of its capacity.

If you have 100Ah battery than use 75Ah (50%) than again full charge. If you cross this limit than battery starts die fast.
