DIN is generally a German Term for standards.
Here 360 DIN is refered to its 360 BHP

This, along with the 560 Widebody's, was the car on which AMG rests it's reputation as an engine builder par excellence.

The legendary M 117 engine was further bored out to 6 litres and fitted with the 4 valve AMG heads. Claimed output was 360 BHP but the real figure was closer to 390/395BHP.

What a car, a real classic and to top it all a real driver's machine. Will always find a place on any top 10 car listing.

my favorite Mercedes to this date was the Cosworth 190E , but this has blown everything out of proportion :P. those figures are crazy.

back in the 1990's the 300E-24 was fast enough for most people, then they came out with the 400, and the 500E. Honestly, the multivalve in the 300E-24 was a screamer, the V8's were a little disappointing to drive as they handled like boats. The hammer filled that void.
