No specific maintenance except she asks for a couple of pulleys to be changed and mounts. Gear oil obviously.
Mine has done 190k km and she's still running strong Alhamdulillah.
Put in some diesel tonic/octance booster(some other names as well) when you get your tank filled and all is well.

As far as about people, people say a lot of things. You have to experience things for yourself to know the reality.

I'm fairly inclined towards mechanical work myself (Mech E), but lack the expertise and experience. A glimpse of my mb for your thread. A W202, which is a '90s C Class.

W202, clean one starts above 8.
98-99 models of W202 cost around and above 10.

put on a lift and wiggle every bushing with a lever, excessive slop means new required,

take the car on the road under full power, it should work like a well oiled machine, open n close doors, bonnet and boot - they should have the classic mercedes feel to them.

operate the whole dashboard, everything should work.

make note of noises and vibrations - repair as required.

btw - which engine in the tiny benz?
