ride height adjust
the bottom of cylinder has groves to lower or raise the height of yr car.
you adjust both sides equal, - counting number of groves, there is a tightening nut with it,
you set height and lock the cylinder on the location by tightening the nut.
do not over tight it with a long handle rod like local mechanics. hand tight with a 12" rod is sufficent. or mid level stroke of hammer behind a flat screw driver, if you dnt have tools.
spring adjust the car bounce stability
thespring sets the bounce - up and down moment along the with damper inside the cylinder.
lower spring setting on cylinder will keep the ride softer and less handling stiffness on turn. its wisable to keep it mid level for average bumpy road .
full open spring means softer suspension and more body roll.
above midlevel setting of spring is circuit driving setup when performance is prefered.
i suggest you make it near midlevel to min and max counting groves on cylinder ,
very stiff spring will make suspension too stiff and damage car on bumps, ( sudden speedbump jumps).
procedure is same to lock: there is a adjust nut and a tightening nut to lock the spring adjust nut
note: the spring when in full tight position will not lift up the car, the local mechanics who have experience with standard shocks may think it might. in a coilover spring rate is factory adjusted to stiffen the ride , not lift up the car
damping:
there is a solid rod inside the cylinder that puts pressure on gas or oil inside cylinder so the damping can be adjusted,
the nut on top rotated to one side will soften the damping and rotated to full other side will harden the damping. usually they have clicks as you rotate it, with a spanner. count the clicks equal on both sides.
very stiff damping means car is to be driving on smooth circuit, bumps will make the cylinder leak, and you will see oil leakage,
very soft damping will make your car go on springs and car will bounce on road,, make damping adjustment, midway to half and soft. for local road use.
camber adjust:
some coilover models have camber adjust, from top of coilover with a camberplate . take car to wheel alignment, and set camber to zero adjusting from top,
can be made negative for responsive cornering, but if yr plan to wheelspin, this negative setup will eat tire rubber quickly
you adjust yr car how you want it to behave on road. may take two or three attempts on adjustment,, and readjust whenever .. the fun of having coilovers
