dear use your knowledge and experience to fine tune customer cars on factory settings. i know usually people dont like to pay proper service and repair bills for the job but there are many people as well who do like to pay for a good job. test your EC1 technology on any of your own car and analyse the results after you have driven it atleast 200k-300k kms. then you can see for urself how good or bad it is. testing this system on customer's car is not a good approach both professionally and in ethical manners. you can target a good market by simply identifying and rectifying the problems by book. cheaper way is not the right way, those who look for cheaper way just show them the exit door. you will have limited customers and good reputation, shortcuts will simply turn you into other roadside ustads. I still don't understand what OBD2 does...does it simply output the data from the sensors when you plug in the cable and send a set of standard signals or is it responsible for controlling the entire engine?

can it be reprogrammed?

If so, inventor's claim that his device can change air fuel ratio doesn't sound wrong...

No, it cannot be reprogrammed. Some people try piggyback add-ons to influence certain parameters, but these are very hard to implement properly, and are usually model specific.

Yes I have heard of this...You actually put a reprogrammable microcontroller somewhere on the ECU board to change different settings...

But I have also seen while getting my car tuned from showroom that the guy connected the cable from car to pc and did some actual tuning as well...He reset the ECU settings to factory specifications and after that my idle throttle etc went back to what it was supposed to be (~800rpm). So can it or can it not be re-programmed? I mean I have seen it being done, or was that something else....?

Those programs edit the fuel and timing lookup tables, and often cause more problems than they solve, including reduced service life and emissions problems. The basic control systems and algorithms remain the same.

That was official honda showroom and the guy was using some honda software as well where I went to...

There are many such programs available by OEMs and others, but they are used more for proper troubleshooting within carefully defined limits. If it was an official Honda program, then it will have a proper manual to go with it. There are many more aftermarket choices for Hondas. Are you sure it was an official Honda tuning software?

it had honda logo on it and said "honda" in several places.....

previously some pangas were done by a desi workshop on the car...the pangas were fixed after honda tuning..I must say its worth paying 2k more for a proper tuning...now my car runs so smooth.

ok xulfiqar saab you had pretty meesed up my word's and started a war over here I had mentioned that we are dealing in the spare's of TOYOTA CROWN since 1990 and are the sole dealer's of it in Twin city. I had put forward a simpler case in which a customer was not willing to replace the part's for better of his vehicle .

The EC1 is the "Engineering ChooMantar One" magical device that does not work because it has no principles, but it is claimed to take care of all the ECU-related engine troubles for all cars, petrol or diesel or gas.

lets assume that toyota crown does not exist

the chinese origin engine who those snaps belonged to show a severely bad ltft. meaning the ecu already cut 35% of normal duty. the injectors require a certain time to open cutting it too short can cause the injectors not to open at all in some case as anyone who as tried to tune a safc with larger injectors knows.

can you post what this engine trims are at with ec1 installed. and what standard does this ecu follow
