there are so many reviews against bajaj's quality that i faced difficulty to which one to choose & which one to drop.if so many indians r facing problems with there bikes, then it's mean k "Daal main kuch kaala hai".

Dear Friends,

This is an honest review about the latest edition of the bike Pulsar 150 Dtsi...

Firstly, ever since the years of the inception of its bikes in the Indian market, Bajaj has been producing terrible bikes with cheap parts and severe build quality issues... Each new inception has made its customers guinea pigs of the Bajaj R&D department... This is proven by teh fact that Bajaj had to redo even the pulsar 3 times and still has a far from satisfactory product...

Now to the important points of the review...

FIrst, I list out the positives of the bike :

1. Good looks - No doubt about that

2. Comfortable ride

3. Good handling(though Apache is offsetting this)

Now for the Negatives :

1. Terrible gearbox - From the time of its inception, the pulsar has always been dogged by severe gearbox problems... The key being repeated false neutrals... And also, the gearbox gets stuck for no reason at all, which is potentially a dangerous hazard to the rider... One would have thought that by now, after bringing out two new versions and now even changing the type of gearbox, Bajaj would have sought to fix this problem... Unfortunately, this was never accomplished and till today, owners still have to "adjust" to it... the common refrain is "you’ll get used to it... Its ok... "

2. Power delivery - After a year - The Pulsar, unless perfectly maintained starts losing that terrific power that it initially delivers, after about a year... This comes from the personal experiences of many of my friends who are Pulsar owners(and rue the fact) who drive very well.... That racy feel is lost and the bike begins to feel like an old workhorse past its prime....

3. Poor ride quality - The Pulsar has very poor rear shock absorbers, be it the gas shocks or the regular... With a pilion, the ride become marginally comfortable and softer... Without one, when drving for long distances, one can get a terrible backache... And the suspension is set very hard even when one changes the height of the adjustable arms

4. Poor mileage - Its a well known fact that 150cc bikes when ridden hard can only give about 35-40 kmpl... By hard i mean 75+ kmph... The false claim of Bajaj is that the bike will give about 50... This is such an overestimation because, it gives hardly about 30-35 kmpl under such riding... Yes, this is a contentious argument for many die hard Pulsar owners who will fight tooth and nail about it... But people, face facts... Its the truth...

5. False technology promises - Or rather, make believe promises... DTSi is DIgital Twin Spark, which means the engine fires twice over each cycle... Believe me, this does NOT add any value to the mileage... In the long run, the wear and tear of the engine is only increased... Agreed this is "new" technology, but the way Bajaj has utilized it, it just doesn’t live up to its name...

6. Terrible finish - Bajaj’s build quality has been terrible and its shows most on the Pulsar 150 DTSi... A terribly plasticky finish, with mirrors that fall off like no man’s business... And a problem of poor quality paint being used is highlighted by the ease with which it fades after a year or so....

7. Terrible after sales service - Bajaj is widely known for its initial marketing gimmicks... And equally known for its pathetic crappy customer service... And as for the Pulsar, from what i’ve heard maintenance is expensive even in the free services cause of unnecessary part changes which are "not under warranty"

Overall, the product which is touted to be Bajaj’s premium product falls far short of expectations... That when the new CBZ Xtreme produces 2 bhp more power at slightly better mileage and the Apache which gives a far better package...

My suggestion to all new buyers would be to check out the CBZ Xtreme/Apache/Achiever/Unicorn in that order before even taking a sniff of the terrible poor quality product know as the

"Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSi"

Definitely Male - Ha ha... Don’t make me laugh... Its nowhere near it...

Update :

Of late the new digital speedo upgraded Pulsar has been out on the roads, though few in number compared to the existing version....

On questioning many users who have bought this new pulsar, most after the 2nd service say the mileage is just about 45-48 kmpl... Also, the digital speedometer gives minor but irritating problems.... The gearbox is also just a shade better than the old with similar problems....

These are the views of many users whom i met at many signals, not any biased or personal opinion... Considering these facts, I think Bajaj continues to con its customers in its usual false ways....

6. Terrible after sales service - Don't agree(may be 1 or 2 service centers could have some problems).
   
   If someone can't maintain his bike and say bike is a problem then what can I say?

Five Worst Bikes Review
Every year, the Indian market sees a number of new bikes released... And every year, it also sees at least an equal number which are terrible... Below are mentioned the 5 worst bikes ever in India over the past ten years :

1. Bajaj Discover DTSi : Overall a terrible bike produced to dupe genuine buyers of their hard earned money, the Discover DTSi is a terrible bike in all departments except looks... The engine which is a retuned version of the Wind 125(which was good in that version) leaves much to be desired... Coupled with a horrible gearbox, this bike can be a nightmare to ride... The alloy wheels supplied just about serve the purpose... The poor electrical and cabling give a terrible finish and the headlamp power at night is too low to justfiy its size... Coupled with Bajaj’s famous false mileage claims, it will not be long before this bike bites the dust... In any case, few Bajaj bikes have actually run successfully for more than 2 years...

2. Bajaj Platina : The much awaited successor to the "famed" CT100(on its way out), the Bajaj Platina looks like an oversized toy from the Bajaj stable.... Known ONLY for its mileage, the Platina has absolutely no other pros... A terrible combination of the Wind 125 looks with the CT 100 chassis, the Platina’s sales in major cities are hardly compatible with the advertising craze from Bajaj... The parts utilized are imported from China(which is fine) and they are highlighted by the fact that the odometer/speedometer sprocket is made of plastic!!! I mean how cheap can Bajaj get to reduce its market price??? Poor build quality coupled with false mileage claims(108 kmpl!!!) and terrible customer relationship managers will sound the death knell for this pathetic vehicle called the Bajaj Platina

3. Yamaha YD 125 : Introduced at the wrong time to the Indian market with a good engine and false mileage cliams, the YD 125 has long been out of the reckoning.. Agreed the engine is good and still used but thats about it... The build quality was cheap and terrible... And the ride...A bullock cart would have better suspension that the YD... The looks were below average at that time, coupling the ancient rajdoot looks to a so called modern bike... Overall this bike hardly sold and was phased out as fast at its introduction...

4. Hero Honda CD Joy/Dawn : Hero Honda was riding on its success of the splendor and cd 100... So it decided to upgrade the looks of the CD 100 to try and boost sales... Result? A total drop in its sales and a boost in the sales of the splendor!!! Yes, the Joy/Dawn is a decent bike no doubt, but it was a non-starter right from its inception... soon after its inception it was rebadged and then discontinued... Nto surprising as one cannot rest on ones laurels forever...

5. TVS Centra : Postitively the worst bike ever produced in the 100cc segment... TVS motors totally duped the gullible buyers of this bike with false mileage claims of upto 146 kmpl!!! With hardly any power to speak of, the less said about the mileage the better... JUst 50 kmpl!!! Add to that skinny, poor quality tires and you have the skids galore!!!! Pathetic bike... Pathetic marketing... Justified FLOP...

This is a personal opinion.Everyone has his own opinion.IMO :-

1. Bajaj Discover DTSi : Gear box is not that good but bike is really good giving mileage of 60-65 km/ltr.

2. Bajaj Platina : A really nice bike.Can give mileage upto 90km/litre if ridden economically.

3. Yamaha YD 125 : Don't know about this bike.

4. Hero Honda CD Joy/Dawn : CD Joy - OK bike.not better than its competitors.

CD Dawn - Better than Joy.

1. TVS Centra : We can call this bike as a failure.I have only one in my city so far.It's discontinued after the launch of TVS Star city.

Except Platina, all the bikes are phased out many years back. No one can spot these bikes in their way. How the hell a review on dead/short lived bikes can be posted as NEWS:o in a reputable/professional automobile website?

Dear Friend,
U can go for any bike from honda or yamaha just dont go for bajaj as lot of my friends in my college had got bajaj bikes and after a year u will really know what bajaj bike r all about.Go through the below points.

1.As u can see bajaj bike sales are going down.

2.quality of bike is very poor almost like chines s bikes,the plastic,the metal parts and event the engine parts are not of that high quality.As my friend is working in a company which manufactures engine parts or component for bajaj and yamaha,he told me that people from yamaha totally reject components if they are even little faulty but bajaj they accept but with some discounted rates.

3.Even if u buy a new bike after a year or so it will be old as they update their bike at a fast rate,which makes u feel "wish i had waited for this".

4.The bikes are not properly designed mainly pulser 200,as the seating position is awkward,even the rear brake leaver is awkward positioned for braking.

So my sugg is that u go in for the new yamaha bike FZ16 which looks good on the engine as well as look side.or any other bike which is properly engineered.Hope u take the right decision.

And my personal opinon about buying Bajaj Bikes:

1. They're constantly upgrading and launching new models with added features and phasing out earlier models. The fate of Bajaj models are unpredictable. :s

But Honda keeps their outdated Splendor for decades. One who bought Splendor in 1998 is still a proud owner of his bike as the model is still in production. (Y)

I am facing some problems in that bike after 2 months of purchase which
Are as below:-
1) engine bolts:- engine bolts are loosed & 2 of them are lost.
2) mis firing:- after the ignition of spark it starts firing from the
Silencer and lot of smoke comes out from engine bottom and smell like that
Some coil is burning that seems very dangeorous.
3) engine sound:- after the start of bike engine produce so much of sound.

I have shown too many time my bike to service station (prj enterprises Ltd.) Regarding these above problems. The service station people misgude Me & didn't tell me the exact problem in bike & still i am not satisfied By the bajaj auto. I have told these problems of the general manager of That service station. By doing all these things i am mentally harassed. I Can't bear any more harassment regarding this. I also write a letter to a area manager and servise manager on wednesday but no feedback came.

So please take take some legel action on it.

Yeh sari problems tab aati hai jab koi apni bike ke running period(1000 km) ka dhyaan nahi rakhta.CLEAR?
