True story...
Thank you
Now who have you been listening to lately that made you think like that?
I posted the graphs above which have been measured by Erin Hardison who does objective comparisons on DIYMA. He even got the audio frog midrange in his own car as well, speaking about only that particular driver no other 2.5 inch midrange allows you to play such a large bandwidth whilst taking up so little space.
The install friendliness is a value addition, these are by far the best speakers we've ever heard and the list of drivers we've heard up til now is shamefully long. Nauman bhai had the Alpine f1 status drivers(FYI Alpine f1 is much superior than Dynaudio esotec) before the Audio Frogs and the Audio Frogs are in fact superior drivers, the decision wasn't just made on "thoughts" it's been made after objective and subjective evaluations so my advise to you is to actually see objective data and hear something out before passing conclusions just based on "thoughts".
Here's a subjective shootout between top tier drivers compiled by DIYMA member niebur3 where the esotar topped both shootouts. These Audio Frog drivers are even better then that.

When Andy went out to make the best drivers, he took the best reference drivers i.e scans and dynaudio esotar hence went out to make a driver that's even better. The graphs i posted confirmed that statement.
A little bit from Erin's post on why he went for the Audio Frog Gb 25...
Sure, the GB25 costs anywhere from 2-10x as much as other 2-3" mids, but it's small frame size combined with it's relatively high linear excursion, smooth response about an octave above beaming, good polar response (on/off axis response matching), and thermal handling all are reasons why the driver is worth, at least to me, that price differential. Most of the common 2-3" drivers simply cannot be crossed as low as I needed and some have poor off-axis response which is important to me because you still have to mate a tweeter to it. At this point, the GB25 is certainly in my top 3 favorite drivers. To date, there is no other driver with this same footprint that can cover the same bandwidth as effectively. That was worth paying for.

You can see his objective reviews on Diyma's review section or his website medleymusings.com where he has covered a wide variety of drivers.
I hope that clears out any unnecessary "thoughts".
As far as the p99 is concerned, there was initially another plan but by the time i cancelled that plan after seeing the practicality of it in a friend's car who was already running what I wanted to do, sadly I had already sold my head unit hence went for a brand new one instead.
Yeah I might just do that even though there were no visible signs of wear and tear after daily use for such a long time since the build quality of the p99 is far superior than the 80prs as I've ran that too including the p90 rs combo as well.
