Hello guys,
I was in lhr last weekend and i took it as a chance to meet my buddies and demo their setups. I took a thorough audition of the coldie's ride in the evening.
His setup at the moment is phenomenal and getting better day by day. But as i was asked to review it critically.
First Impressions:
The output is mellow and the mid range is quite detailed. Vocals are dead centred as the auto tune did its job quite well. The 8 inch midbass drivers are always a receipe for the chest punch but dyns mid driver takes it further to the next level.
Mid range is in the kicks but yields all the output on the dash. The monstorous 15" sub in sealed 1.5 cubes is just insane and keeps up with the 8" drives.
Tweeters feel like the part of midrange and doesn't bite.
Things i like:
Attack & Decay of Mids. its just too good.
Sound deadening of doors is very good.
Mid range really shines arcross the spectrum.
Tweets are mellow and smooth.
Sub blends very well with fronts and its accurate.
Imaging is perfect, coldie used some reference tracks and the instruments were exactly there where they should be.
Issues i noticed: (May be i am wrong or my ears freakin out :))
Tweeter placement is not ideal, Driver side tweeter has an obstruction after almost 6 inches and the steering column is acting as a reflector.
Tweeter after 10k approx is too mellow, the air or pressence is not there.
Stage height is low, thats obviously is because of tweeters being below the ears.
Stage depth is minimal. That is also due to the tweets close to the listener.
The sub is little boomy after 60-70 hz i believe. I doubt it is because of the enclosure, may be a tweaking eq one octave above and below the crossover point may help.
Overal this system is one of few of few which sound damn good. Hearing is believing, Ahmed bhai you have came a long way into the SQ, and i request if you have more time, please manual tune your system and move your tweets up on pillars or push them back in dash same as garrys merc.
