Well we did happen manage the smoke and fuel, we fine tuned the fuel pump & nozzles, so the fuel pump should only increase the fuel when the boost is high. We tuned the fuel pump using Air/Fuel Ratio tool, so we can know, how much lean or rich the engine is running. After many test runs & trials, we reach the point where the engine was running perfectly with a very lil bit of smoke... and with low EGTs between (600-700) at higher RPMs. That diesel tuning took us almost 1 whole week to fine tune the fuel.

That was our success AL HAMDU LILLAH. Many people/mechanics here dont even know how to tune the fuel pump according to the boost, they just say

"Boost ziada he gaa, o thallay ala screw thora jeya khol deyo, diesel khul jaa si"

But they dont know what they are really messing with, that screw opening thing is really a death for a diesel engine.

So for my understanding you used AFR to fine tune your Deisel engine
You went for wide band o2 tune
Which wide band controller you used?
Did you use any vfc or safc device?
This engine is a non efi one
How did you manuplate the AFR readings?
What AFR reading you set for lower ahd upper/higher throttle?
At what readings you find your engine lean or rich
14.7 particle of air are required to burn 1 particle of fuel and this is an ideal situation
I still wanna know from you
Maybe i get something new in my knowledge

Yes we used AFR & EGT Gauge to fine tune the diesel engine,
We Used Innovate Motorsports LM-2 Device for AFR Readings
We didnt use any VFC/SAFC Device
This Engine Is non Efi
We dont manipulate AFR reading much in diesel turbo engine, we usually focus on our EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) lower the EGT safer the engine is

At Lower side we are getting 19-30 AFR
AT upper side we are getting 17-47 AFR
Below 20 its lean for us
14.7 is usually for petrol engines,
for diesel engines we keep it between 18-22

AFR on a Diesel has not significant value for tuning.. Diesel is lean burn by design and very sensitive to load condition.. useless to chase AFR readings.. Dont waste time and money on AFR if your are tuning a Diesel.. Focus on Boost & EGT.. Watch the smoke in the mirror
