The Mazda RX 8 Fan Club (Rotary God)

Hello fellow Pakwheelers and passing byers

I Assumed that we do not have an RX 8 Fan club and this car sure deserves one since the number of Rx8 have increased a lot on the roads during 3 or 4 years.

I would ike you guys to First introduce your Vehicle here by Writing its

1) Model Year
2) Version (Base, E, type S, G touring etc)
3) Possibly a picture of it with your lovely face
4) KMs on the ODO
5) Transmission (manual or auto)

Since we have very few skilled rotary mechanics in Pakistan, this thread was much needed anyway. You guys can present your problems or ask questions. I will help you guys to the best of my knowledge and other members, I am sure, would love to contribute as well. If all of us are unable to answer, then do not worry. The Guardian Angel of Pakwheels, Xulfiqar Bhai, will for sure fly over here to help us.

Lets put some ground rules then

1) No abusing, name callings, disrespecting
2) No off topic discussion
3) You can put parts sales post, but do consider gifting your useless part to a brother first.
4) Never, ever ask which engine to swap in RX8, i consider it blasphemy to put in anything other than a rotary inside this beauty. Always go for a rotary rebuild.
5) Incase you do want to swap, re read rule number 4.

So I will start the chain of events

I have Blue Rx8, Type S, 2007 Model. It has 38000 km on the odo. Its with the 6 speed auto transmission.

I will. Sunday is my rx8 day got to wash and wax it. Then i will upload photos.
Meanwhile last week i faced a problem. Coolant level wss dropping in my car.
The passenger side carpet was getting wet.
So i located the problem to the heater core.
The radiator for heater was leaking.
I by passed the heating core. Now i don't have any heater in car but it saved me a temporary hassle of stripping down the entire dash to take out the heater radiator.

Just started to wash and wax my beauty but noticed sharp scratches on roof and door. My car was crysral clean
This is the reason our nation is stuck in this mess. Jealous people. Some retard deliberately scratched her. I hope karma finds him soon and makes sure he pays 10 times.

btw wats wrong with swapping rx8 with anything other then rotary. i know alot of stuff n fun would b compromised but hey who cares i have a cool dashing daily driven car rather then rotary headache on wheels.

For starters rotaries are fun. Secondly we have not seen many successful swaps. Its mostly an abomination.
Lastly why does rotary give you headaches ? And not other engines like 1jz or 2jz ?
Even old suv engines give more head aches than rotaries.
If you wont take care of your rotary. It will give you hell.
My rotary runs like cream. I change oil every 2k. Add 2T motor oil every other tank. After 1 month i run a fuel system cleaner through it. I redline it every day.

ravager bro major issue is people purposely buy rx8 which is already swapped or need a swap bcz they can't bear tantrums of rotary which u have explained rather they happily swap jz amd all it need is fuel and oil to run no issues on a side note i have driven a jz rx8 a year back nd it had more then enough power. nvr had experience with rotay

Thats what i do too bro. Just oil and fuel.
You know people started doubting rotaries. Thats when mazda gave people 160000km engine replace warranty and 8 years time. They had confidence in their engines.
Rotaries fail as much as regular engines fail.
Rotaries can be rebuilt like we overhaul regular engines.
Yes a 2jz will spit out more power than a meager 13b rotary but its the smoothness of drive that matters. Rx8 was built for the track. Not a street drag race. It shines in hilly areas. Due to excellent road handling.
The only problem here is people do not understand rotary and most mechanics do experiments on your car. So you have to do most repairs by your own hand.

Make sure when you buy an rx8, its compression is good. People do not get it checked and then later blame the engine for their lack of knowledge.

Water decarbed my engine today. Runs and idles smoother now. Anyone else wanting to do this ? If yes i can post the procedure.

Hi Ravager,

Just bought myself a type S, 39K run, manual RX8 in metallic grey. Atleast we now have a two member clug
This car is pure love, i must say. Pick is awesome with smooth acceleration to any level.
I just changed engine oil to Mobil multigrade. (15W40)
Need some info on premixing. Which oil do you use (2T)? Quantity when topping up?
Moreover please shed some light on the water decarb.
