i deal with mercs regularly as well and i too am aware of these problems though they are not too common here. I shoudl point out that the MB dealers in PK now very little about their products and also they NEVER implement any recalls on cars sold here.
MB launched a recall on the harmonic balancer on the M112 & M113 engines but shahnawaz never bothered to implement it. recently MB had a recall/upgrade of the W211 battery management software but again shahnawaz never bothered with the upgrade even when i brought it to their attentin that my W211 chassis number is within the list of cars due for a recall. Their answer is " that is only for the US models" even thought my own cars chassis number was right there in print and it was an international recall notice.
Don't trust the dealers, you should do your own research.
