Time for an update now. After running the car to approx 40,000 km, it was time for a battery change. One fine day the sound of the horn just changed slightly. I could sense that at the time of starting, the vehicle was making a slightly irregular sound.
Due to the way the battery is originally mounted, i did not want to make unnecessary changes to the mounting structure. So i opted for an imported dry battery. It was not a requirement, as the local batteries also have similar terminals, but I would have had to modify certain aspects to mount it and keep the battery stable in it's tray.
So i opted for a Hankook battery. After running the vehicle for a month, it is running very smoothly.
One quick word of caution....do not get worried when you place a new battery in the car and suddenly the dash mounted analog clock starts ticking away.....its because the digital clock setup in the car has turned to 12:00 and the analog clock is just adjusting to that time. You can halt it by quickly setting the digital time in the display and the analog clock will adjust accordingly.
Happy driving everyone
