The right oil for 2nz-fe?

Aslam o alikum ,i had a couple of questions in my mind,regarding engine oils,

1 ive been wondering which is the right engine for my 2nz-fe 1.3 and
2 how to recognise which oil is suitable for which engine
3 how to read the ratings on the oil bottle??
4 how to i know ,how well an engine oil is performing

all help is appreciated

The right ENGINE? or the right OIL for the engine?

The right engine is the one under the hood. The right oil for the said engine is what is pecified in the manual, but any good SL/SM rated oil of the correct viscosity will work out fine in this engine. My suggestion would be the Mobil1 0w-30 full synthetic if it can be sourced reliably.

well to see the performance of engine oil you can compare the diffrence in the engine's fuel consumption , at the time of oil change you can see how viscous the old oil still is , the more the better and finally the best indication is that the oil should not be black or with carbon when you drain it

Sir Petromin Ultra 7 is more then enough, if it is available.

Else Mobil Super is good, if not available, Shell Helix HX7 is good.

Using fully Synthetic is like burning your money in Pakistan, keeping in view how much they cost now, also you have to purchase the oil filter that can equally match the synthetic performance or duration.

But if you can afford Mobil 1 10W30 is available, Shell Helix Ultra 10w40, Havoline fully synthetic 5W30 , ZIC A+ and XQ and Honda's OEM 5W20 SM grade full synthetic, made by Total Atlas Lubricants are readily available in market.

switch to fully synthetic oil if you are not using them now ... you'll feel the difference .... I am using Zic A+ 5W / 20 its great and when i switched i felt a great difference in fuel economy .... 15 - 20 Km more on the same Engine same CNG cylinder and all ...

Petromin Ultra 7 is the best oil for the corolla, as Toyota also gives 20w40 and i think manual also states the oil 20W40 so i would recommend Ultra 7(20w40)

@jz. I switched to Petromin last month and I really like it now. Have been using Toyota Motor Oil during warranty period and then switched to Shell H-X7 (semi synth which they now call synth) and had no issues with this one also. But with Petromin I have notices improvement in milage, noise reduction and improved acceleration. In fact I enjoy driving more since I poured Petromin in 2NZ-FE

i am still continuing with the factory filled 20W50 in my new GLi. i am not happy with the acceleration and drive of the car especially in cold weather these days...i am planning to pour TMO 5W30 or 10W30 available in Tin packing from dealerships at first oil change.
For the rest of my vehicles (slightly older ones).....petromin ultra beyound any speck of doubt !!

and yes there would be better oils in the market but i would stick to Toyota Oil at least for the entire warranty period.....

i agree with you on this. everyone should stick to OEM lubricants until the warranty period expires otherwise you'll have no chance of claiming anything from the factory if something goes wrong.

Go for CALTEX Fully synthatic 5w-30 in this cold weather. its price is 2200pkr for 4LTR pack.

was short of time on sunday becuase of pw meet n ended up geting shell yellow botttled 10w40 mineral oil :S
