From this point i knew only one word KHALLAS, but it wont help:) there are more then 7 check points for crossing border, that includes checking of luggage. Don't stay in trucks line, over take & don't forget to pay 40 AED per person after first check post.
You have to park your car & take your passports to immigration building. I missed & saudi post send me back at stage 1.
I drove all the way back on one way in no mans land due to first check post guy words KHALLAS:)

All above images were taken at high risk, forget the quality:) don't loose any slip issued. You need to submit few at last check post. Keep Tourist letter with you. When giving passport open the page of visa of all passengers passports, they mind if they have to find the page:)

Thanks keep watching, in UAE its around 40 RS i guess but in Saudi don't ask:) its cheaper then water. I use to wash my car with High Octane but its risky if you smoke. Just kidding:) i guess its 12 RS/liter & water is 27 Rs/lit.

A friend suggested to take a rest right after crossing border. These rooms are available at approx 20 Riyal/hour, or in a deal you can get it for 100 riyal till 8am.

Food,grocery store & rooms all are available at the same fuel pump. Mandi (rice with chicken) is best option.

sand dunes area, extreme temperatures, and sparse vegetation. I suggest to drive in night only. Water stock is a must.

I took right turn which is going to Hofuf again, dont turn right there is no board, this junction is under construction. I stopped a vehicle & then went off road to cath the straight road again. Remember after your first left turn after leaving pump from border, go straight 427km.

Means in UAE, you guys are paying almost 3 times the amount paid in KSA... thats not fair! i know water is not cheap in gulf region but petrol should be

anyways, loving the pix... love those long, mostly-empty highways and the 140km/h speed limit would be fun to drive there...

Almost four times but still cheap as compare to other countries, after crossing border speed limit is 95 but there is no speed limit, no radar check cameras:) but high speed is not recommended, you will find out in pictures soon.

GPS is showing a pump but when you actually reach at the coordinates you can miss the first pump due to the approach. Next is 100 km away. Cat machines are constantly working on side to build a sand wall to keep clear the road from sand storms.

No radio coverage, no phone signals of etisalat, i recommend to buy a local connection but again its difficult to load a credit in local sim. Bought a recharge card of mobily which is etisalat service provider but you can't upload without a (aqama) ID card.

Dual carriage road trucks are on steroids going above 120. Take a break if you are tired. Outside Temp is raising.
