Lalazar used to be a breathtaking hill station in the north of Kaghan Valley. The lush green Lalazar Meadows spread nearly over the area of 1.5 X1.5 square km is unique in terms of its width and its colour. Lalazar used to be one of the most attractive spots in whole kaghan valley and attract tourist like a magnetic pull.It was so beautiful that locals used to compare it with Switzerland and for some it was even more than Switzerland and was so proud that the hill station is in Pakistan. But some people take advantage of it beeing in Pakistan means that they have a free hand to destroy beauty because of no rules and regulations and unfortunately they succeed in that and Pakistan is deprived of its breathtaking asset in the shape of Lalazar.
how the people ruin the lush green meadows??
it all starts suddenly in 2004 when the cultivation of Potaoes which previosly is done on batakundi climbs up to this meadow but the area under cultivation used to very small and was neglible so neglible that it does not have any bad effects on its beauty but suddenly in 2005 just in a gap of 1 year, more than half of the meadow is cultivated by potatoes in summer season but that does not stop here in 2007 the area under cultivation spread further and restricts the meadow to a small area and in 2008 the area has spread further and further giving the area the bad and ugly looks. i know its too boring to read text let see with the help of some pictures who the Lalazar lost its beauty.
This was the Lalazar in year 2004

This is another view which used to be before cultivation

Another beautiful view of 2004 Lalazar

Another beautiful view.

and see what was behaivour of pakistanis to this nature gift in 2005.

in 2007 The beautiful land of Pakistan (Lalazar) was converted into this shape.

and in 2008 finally the cultivation area spreads further and further notice the increase in cultivation area from 2007 to 2008.

Nowadays this ruined Lalazar is asking question from everyone who is responsible for its destruction and whether the lalazar will return to its shape ever or not. whether the other hill stations of Pakistan will see similar fate????
