Hi,
I wanted your input about my theft deterrent plan for Toyota Corolla.
I had intended to buy Corolla Altis 1.8 2010, but fellow Pakwheelers had told me that I should look for another car such as Honda or Daihatsu due to high snatching rate of Corolla in Karachi.
I really like Altis car due to the fact that it is auto and also that its mileage is good (around 11kmpl). However, the high snatching rate remark had made me think again about this car. Please share your wise insights in solving
I can avoid snatching at the road by taking safety measures like speeding away or showing them my gun. Also, we have guards at the office, so there is no need to worry about car theft while at the office.
However, I don't have a garage at home and the car would stay outside. This is my main concern about buying a Corolla.
I have read that trackers and other security devices are of not much use. Some pakwheelers have reported their Corolla being stolen from home even when the car had a tracker device.
To prevent the car from being stolen from my home, I have come up with the idea of taking one tyre and battery at home to deter thiefs. Is that a good idea? Will this prevent theives from stealing my 2010 Altis car?
Do you guys have other ideas for preventing theives from stealing my car from home? Do you think I should go for Corolla or it's better to go with Honda City 2011 or Mira 2014 (two cars in the same price as Altis 2010)?
Thank you in advance for your generous replies.
