Bro, I am not an expert about diagnosis of engine knocking and how to rectify it, however, I would suggest to visit some good garage, reach to the root cause of engine knocking and rectify it accordingly. Engine knocking can be due to many factors; like bad fuel, bad spark plugs, deposits on cylinder walls, not-enough lubrication of cylinders, imbalanced air-to-Fuel mixture, etc. Rule everything one by one, to find the exact cause.

I had opted for H8 Attock.. it had been giving a very good fuel avg.

Yes, Attock also used to give me the best fuel efficiency, even better than Shell and Total in my ex-ride Passo (all from company operated and maintained Petrol Pumps), however, some members reported that Attock fuel chokes catalytic converter (then just as a pro-active approach, I didn't use Attock in Vitz. I most of the times prefer Shell, and then Total. But, I think, it can have nothing to do with engine knocking, unless / until fuel is of bad quality).

Bro, if H8 Attock causes knocking, then all Attock fuel stations should also cause knocking, which does not seem right to me. I think, problem is some where else. Hash737 has also been using Attock fuel (if I am not wrong, and I read it in some of his posts), and I think, he didn't report any issues.

Since I do not have any sort of proof that it chokes catalytic converter (just some members reported about it), and especially, that it causes engine knocking, so nothing can be said for surety, that what could be the actual reason?

now i think i will have to change the petrol station. Move to F6 Total / Shell.

Yes, that can be a solution. Try to switch to Shell and max. Total. Use High Octane and see the results. If spark plugs have gone bad, get them replaced (preferable). Regarding Liqui Moly 5w-30, I think, it is good, no issues with the engine oil grade and brand (If Shell Helix X7 5w-30 Semi-Synthetic can work fine, for sure, Liqui Moly can work even more better), still, if possible, try switching to 5w-20 or max. 0w-20 from the next time. Logically and technically speaking, engine oil grade must not be the issue, as these all 03 are mentioned in the owners / users manual and recommended by the OEM, still, no harm in switching to them (preferably after engine flush).

Don't worry. It will get resolved IN SHA ALLAH and ASAP, and situation will become better.

Try switching to Shell V Power, or mix of this with Shell Super Unleaded (Meaning, there is no lead in Shell fuel, which is a very good thing, it won't choke Cat Con), may be, engine knocking gets removed by simply changing the fuel station, fuel brand and fuel Octane rating.

Nothing is wrong with your car.

Try resetting the ECU.

Relearning process should improve the engine performance on local petrol.

This is done by disconnecting the battery.

Dont let anybody near your car you will regret it

Rear doors windows and rear hatch glass were already tinted and came as such from Japan (as per the guy, default tinting is 25%). So now, last 03 are 50% tinted and front 02 are 25% tinted.

Did someone notice, I got rid of all the markings and especially sticky stickers, on the rear glass, as well as the windscreen?

I asked the guy that is it possible that they get removed fully? (Seemed a bit "Paacharr" and "Licharr" type to me). He said not an issue at all. He just sprayed water mixed with shampoo, and scrubbed them off with the blade, very gently and softly.

(Some marking, like "Vitz from Netz" is slightly visible due to dust, at the time of wash, it wasn't there. However, on next service, this sticking material will also be removed I.A.)

Now i want window tints again . I really think at least this % of tints should be allowed. Shades are a headache imo. Once i got the whole car tinted 70%, next day got removed, later went with 100% but on back and rear glass, also removed. Now have 50% on the rear and no tints on the side glass, thinking about 25% on the sides now. Btw the glass in my car has a green tint to it, direct sun doesn't burn my arms when the window is up.

edit: both times my tints were removed in ISB. In Abbottabad no real issue, people even have fronts tinted.

Yes. You are right. At least this much tint must be allowed. Shades too are a headache IMHO, and because of that, I had to go for tint option.

These excise and patrolling cars all have heavy window tints why can't we have them too ? I hope a certain percentage is allowed sooner but there are far too many other problems going on atm.

Maybe because it hasn't gone too much hot here in Abbottabad so that's why i don't feel much heat now. I feel when the sun is directly shining through the windshield no tints/shades are of use as it is burning the dashboard and half of your body. Half of your body is cold and other half is burning up. Only solution could be 3M CR film as it's clear.

Rightly said, but the thing is, they all are LEAs. They can do anything / everything; they may have legal protection due to security reasons, etc. but for general public / masses, rules are different and strict (sometimes, may be just for their own easyness and comfort).

I think, the one as per US link is not available locally. However, the company can be contacted, if one is interested in buying it. May be, they are able to manage it, but it also depeneds that whether they only entertain dealers, or end users / consumers too.

My one of friend has vitz 2009 on normal fuel there is hell a lot of knocking but when he uses high octane knocking vanishes. Knocking is very dangerous for engine life. This problem of knocking is due to 3 cylinders. Same problem is faced by civic users also so they use high octane. It is clearly mentioned in the manual of our vitz to use ron 95 or above.

These rear glasses have built in tint they dont have any film on them? I suppose they are coloured glass. Is it legal? I have read in traffic rules tha it is illegal to distract the inside view of car.

Number of cylinders has nothing to do with knocking. The R18 on the civic runs fine on our local fuel. Only the L15b7 knocks on substandard fuel because of forced induction.

The password for mine, which though looks the same, has different software, is 8888. Try that. I found that out through XDA. There are other combinations too, like 88888888 etc, which are for some other settings. BTW, do check if the RAM/Storage/Android version is the correct one through some other 3rd party app. They often have something else written here as compared to what is actually true.

Having an extra cylinder is not what saved those engines from knocking. Newer engines are tuned for higher Ron fuels and usually run leaner for better mileage. This is one of the reasons for engine knock on low quality fuel. Another reason could be compression ratio. Newer engines are usually higher compression which results in better efficiency but as a result more heat is produced. When high heat is combined with crap fuel the result is engine knock. And there are a host of other things that could lead to knocking.

I believe crystalline series is available here. There was a thread i remember in which some members had gotten these tints. They have a slight colour to them when looked at an angle otherwise clear . They had pretty positive things to say about them. Make no mistake they are expensive but worth every penny. Sorry for dragging this 'tints' debate.

My playa crystalline are available at protec lahore. The least dark one is barely noticeable. @khuram2703 has them on his car and he loves them. @hamza_xeg

Any idea how much for just the windshield ? A member posted these in 2011, these are 3M prestige 70 for 18k. Must be more now.

My experience with 3M film is better than I expected. As I travel a lot on motorway between Lahore and Islamabad (day-trips) the 1st thing I noted was reduction in glare & heat (especially on the way back) when sun is shining on side of your face you don't feel the burning heat, no more shades. You feel very comfortable, like wearing Ray ban's. Moreover there is drastic cut in glare from on & rear coming traffic on high beam.

The car feels much cooler when parked in sun, and gets cool quicker. I think its money well spent.
