Corolla is a bad built machine. Brakes just wont go. You have to hit the brakes padel turn and turn to make it slow down. I am with Honda Civic. Well at least in Pakistan where no one knows what is best to buy or what goes good.

No doubt corolla is better thats why it has got three times market share as compared to civic & city even in pakistan.Everybody knows it has far better re-sale value than honda , only because it is a superior car .It is the best selling car according to guiness book & has got all the 5 stars in durability & reliability .You can still see 1966 model toyotas with original engines running on the roads.This is a historical fact that Honda used to manufacture ring pistons for Toyota & toyota went on rejecting them for many years because they were not upto toyota standard .Car of the year 2004 in Euoropean motor show has again been declaired a toyota (prius) beating Euoropian & American cars .These are undeniable realities & should be accepted.I would request the participants to remain polite while answering.

guys let me tell u something, most of u havent driven or owned both cars, so dont say like tht. new corolla has softer suspension, which the old one didnt had, runnin on straight roads of isb wont show difference while roads of our villages will, secondly civic is born to be fragile, while corollas suspension as been to tough to beat, let it be even older one, while new ones has an interior comaparable to merc C class or bmw 3 series, now civic is technically better, i admit tht but tht doesnt mean its also better in everything, no doubt 2.0d is a best car, and the new 2.0d saloon gives a new trend of comfort of paki built-assembled cars. theek na~! even though i am a fan of vti but for this post i had to turn my side i guess poja karo vti ki mey b then she helps u more, peace

corrolla sucks, its brakes suck,handling,suspension and basically the whole car sux it is only succesful because its in deisel n u people know there are alot of cheap asses in pakistan, if civic comes in diesel, just see then if u ask someone about corrolla they will say... corrolla,yeh konsi gari hai.

this thing should not be discussed with emotions
as corolla owners dont like civic
and civic owners dont like corollas

For that You have to compare the facts
becasue most of the guys here compare the cars race wise and thats not very meture

BEcause every thing is not about racing

Value for money , Build , Resale , Consumption ,Depriciation , PArts

its factors like these which make the car to be decided whether it is good or Bad

Corolla and civic before 2001 were producing very good cars which can easily be said that compared with the same models of EU countries

Corolla 96 2.od and 1.6Gli are very big hits and they are much better then latest models of corolla

On the other hand
compare 96 civic which was an award winner with the 2004 civic
latest civic is just horrible
construction wise and strength wise

well i am not a civic or a honda lover
but if compare all time compatibility
its like this

1 civic 96
2 corolla 2D
3 corolla 1.6 gli

new cars specially Se saloon
well i have seen Se in canada and in pAK
huge difference in every thing

Hondas are no doubt good cars, but in Pakistan Corolla is the best in terms of price and resale value. Your new VTI prosmetic will look a piece of trash, when there is no model on road and its resale value will plunge, while Corolla will not give you any loss and sell instantly, while Honda will take a long time to get rid of

I am not a corolla / civic fan, but have driven both.. and when you are on the road in a civic you feel somewhat powered yourself maybe you can call it psychological illusion of speed... honestly in the corolla you don't feel that not sure the reason but it's just that is. But corolla has a softer ride compared to civic atleast the one i drove!

In a nutshell, if you are young, single, and like the looks ­of the
Civic, then get it. If you want a finer glass of wine in eve­ry aspect
of a car, then get the Corolla.

& please don't get emotional it's a general discussion nothing much.. there is no win / loose kind of situation.

hi peeps lets get technical
* If you want buy a 4 cylinder 4dr sedan and you have a budget from 14 to 18 lac then your gonna go for the corolla xli or glib
* if your budget is 19 to 25 lac your gonna wanna buy a corolla Altis 1.6 , 1.8 or the Honda civic 1.8
* Now if your out there and you don't really have a budget to worry about and you wanna go for performance you would wanna buy the civic and the reasons are that the civc has a More advance engine with quick engine response , a quicker transmission , lower central gravity that increases handling and ergonomics and its got way better grib and traction thats about it.

i have three words for both cars

HONDA CIVIC FD
*Performance
*Handling
*grip

TOYOTA COROLLA
*Good priced
*Luxury
*Efficient

                                 Thats what i have to say for tonight :P
