Throttle body cleaning

Assalamualaikum, does anyone knows any reputable shop who can clean throttle body in Rawalpindi. (Near bahria town ) plz tell ASAP

Why there is a need to clean it?

Throttle body is needed to clean after every 18k to 20k kms. There is honda swan service center close to hum rahi and swan ada on main gt road also close to Kia showroom. They r good. Ur should not b so expensive.

If you roam around the forum. You will see sir Xulfiqar saying multiple times that there's no need to clean the throttle body.

Sorry but I strongly disagree. Throttle body has to be cleaned after every 18k to 20k kms. It also makes the vehicle light, stable rpm and improve fuel average. I have done this both for civic and city since so many years. It has to be done bz it makes huge difference

No sir. It's not written anywhere in the service manual as well. Cleaning it can mess up things as well specially if it's done by desi mechanic. By cleaning i means showering it with fuel.

I also mean cleaning or showering with petrol or or any other specific cleaner sort of wd40 Honda service centre use for throttle body cleaning. Desi mechanic if understand Honda very well can also do this. Its a simple thing. I had and have new city so i always go to honda dealership for this. It really makes lot of difference.

To me yes bz it makes vehicle light. Pick increases and ride become more smooth

as per sir @Xulfiqar TB cleaning is end of vehicle performance like 'ghussal meeyaat' before burial.

I can assure you that cleaning it does not do anything to help the engine but more damages the unit itself, its bushings are oil impregnated plastic and will be damaged if a cleaner is used on them.

If you take your car off and on for a spin with adrenaline rush driving or just a trip on motorway once in a while then your throttle body don't need any cleaning. Same goes for catalytic converter. Both of these will be spanking clean. Learnt this from @Xulfiqar and its been years that my tb has been cleaned though the dealership foreman insists but now he understands too.

Brother I only drive within Islamabad city. I dont go on motorway. My all colleagues drive within city. We all do throttle body cleaning as all good mechanics and honda dealership recommend this after 18k to 20k.

So you and your colleagues collectively are visiting a workshop that doesnt know its December of 2021?

I can guarantee you will post on this forum on why a new throttle body is so expensive in the future too.

Ive owned lots of cars of lots of different brands. Ive never had to clean a throttle body.

However Ive had to change a lot of them in Pakistan because some hazratt ustaad advised such cleaning in the name of maintenance and destroyed the small plastic axle bushings of the throttle.

Btw please inform us of this idiot honda dealership for the sake of people not visiting such lunatics who charge money to damage cars.

Went with my friend to get his car's oil changed. The mechanic was telling him how dumb paksuzuki technicians are because they don't 'clean' throttle bodies even on request lol.
Thankfully you've taught me better and none of my cars have ever been put through that. All with 100k kms still going strong like the day i bought em. Just oem filters and correct viscosity oil at regular intervals.

Alright, so thottle body should not be cleaned in any circumstances.
So recently my car's acceleration (pick) is reduced, what could be the problem?. (i was thinking about cleaning the throttle body)

How about hiring a pro mechanic who can go through the engine mechanically (pcv, valve adjustments etc) and then also see whats going on in the fuelling system.

O bhai pakistan ma baray baray ustad mechanic han. They know better k TB saf kerni ha k nahi. As suggested go through so many things, kisi na kisi sa tou gari theek ho jaye gi na. Its ridiculous. O bhai TB cleaning doesnt do any harm. Just for info. Kabi throttle body ko khulwa k us k andr gand check kerna. Aaj kal sirf spray martay han us k upr saf kerne k liye. No ragr. Sheeshay ki tarah chamak jati ha and then see ride diff like brand new car.
