TIKLI / Chassis Plate / VIN Plate

Read alot of threads on the forum here, was not able to comprehend any conclusive answer.

i am willing you should say about purchase this Original Daihatsu Charade 2 Door, The car is engine wise ohk, works on CNG bu can be adjusted on Petrol, Interior is quite good but the body needs to be repainted!

The car is Karachi registered and Tax paid till 2020 with CPLC clearance. the only thing i am suspicious about is that the TIKLI / Chassis Plate / VIN Plate is missing along with 1 Original Number Plate.

Should i be buy it or not. and are there any legal implication if your car doesnot have a TIKLI / Chassis Plate / VIN Plate.

as far as i have seen the Chassis and the Engine Numbers are quite visible on the car.

Also i am getting the car real cheap it was advertised for 80K the guy told me he will give it for 65K but he is open for negotiations.

in my view - go for it - near to Honda CD 70 price. what else you want.

if the car was new or some where between 5 years old then this TIKLI/VIN/Chassis might give you trouble in selling. but in above case you can buy it, if you can manage charade properly. as you are master in Mitsu and your expertise on maintaining cars i can say Go for it.

i havenot observed any major mechanical issues with the car apart from it not working on petrol!

I think it can be tuned by servicing over carburetor. Rest take Ustad ji with you for final inspection.

Isnt the same car which was added on olx some days back. black one.

i have. just this tikli and number plate issue has been bugging me! The seller was very clear about things and honestly told it to me before i checked the car.

Omer, as you know in karachi police just saw papers, nothing else or finally TEA/Water. but when you sell it in future then the buyer will be reluctant in buying. chalti ka naam gari.

the thing is i tend to avoid Police as much as i can. you are absolutely right about the Chai Pani.

some years back my neighbor from my apartment sold his 86 corolla to my friend who lives nearby. when he went to civic center to transfer in his name they said this car was stolen from Peshawar and FIR was there. Car is karachi number. They said we have to confiscate the car. my neighbor went to the dealer with the buyer from whom he bought way back - dealer near sabzi mandi said dont worry we will clear the car. It was hell to deal.

You are getting car at price of motorcycle. confirm from cplc regarding history of car theft/crime record.if its ok then you can give an offer. number plate miss should have a FIR so that new duplicate can be issued. Tikli miss and plate miss depreciates value of car to a good level but you are already paying lowest possible price.

if the silver laminated ID Plate over drivers' side firewall is missing how would you identify the vehicle as original. as per registration document. does the owner have its original file and the customs entry is present in that ?

to get 2nd plate there has to be an FIR and the new book will be issued.

Thank you for tagging me. Brother, I am not an expert on such issues, however, as per my limited knowledge, I would suggest to stay away from it.

Secondly, aap to khareed lein gey, but jub aap baichnay niklein gey, shayed aapko gahik hi na milay, ya agar milay b to bohat hi kamm offer dey. You might face troubles in sellling it or if you encounter any LEA (if they feel any doubt regarding your car).

I would recommend to avoid it.

Apart frm "no tikli" being a no no for me, it doesnt even run on petrol for which the engine is made...so another no no...

I would suggest you run away from deal. The thing is car is missing VIN PLATE which is crucial in selling as well as identifying the car. It's chassis number can also be punched. My suggestion is stay away and capsat suggested.

As @capsat said, I would also suggest you to stay away from it. Even if you're getting it for cheap, there is no proof that this is the same car as on the papers since the tikli is missing.

But you can buy it and then part it out. If the engine is in good condition, that alone would fetch you a good sum of money.

@sleeper Bhai the plan was to get it properly working again.

But as per majority of the members including the senior respected ones. I have now decided not to buy it.

Yes it is a g11 not running on petrol and motorcycle cheap but I am scared to get into any legal trouble. That is just to hectic.

@capsat sir is right difficult to save money these days.

@sameerulhaq064 Bhai nice idea of parting it out but still not enough time for me to do that.
