Timing Belt of Honda Civic 2004 Model? Suggestion Please?

DEar PWers,

I have a Honda Civic 2004 model (Cat Eyes). The car is 116,000 kms driven. A friend of mine suggested that the timing belt needs to be changed at 80,000 kms, however at 100,000 mark I asked my mechanic and he said it was working well so no need to change. Kindly advise if I should get it changed or not? If so what else would be changed and how much would be the cost? Some one told me that a bearing is also required to be changed when the belt is changed. My only hesitation is that if mechanics touch one area, they screw up with other area. Also do suggest a good mechnic in Karachi, I live at F B Area.

Since no one replied but I had the work done from a Honda 2S dealership in North Nazimabad from Mr. Saeed's workshop. It is a very good trustworthy place and I am totally up for them. I had my timing belt changed at Rs 4,400 and timing bearing changed at Rs 8,200 with a Labor of Rs 2,200. The place is awesome and the people cleaned my car's plugs too for free as well us made small improvements whereever needed within the same Labor.

I got my civic 2003 done in Islamabad .. the charges were 3000 + timing belt = 4010, timing bearing 7700.

did they give you any warranty etc ?

got it chngd from bilal gunj lhr.. 1100 timing belt .. difference in orignal and tht one was just packing .. bearing 1000. mechanic pulled it out from an engine.. labour 1500
