@mgk - You are probably right, I haven't had a proper run in over there to know what the mindset of the cops are, but I don't know why my trick worked when I was there lol. I just prefer to not have a run in at all since some of them may abuse their power and we all know they already do.
In Lahore they're not that strict. I do not get pulled over frequently here, but when I do, it very rarely is a peaceful encounter because they assume I'm a kid and that I'm easy to push over because my Urdu isn't great.
We ourselves don't know what our rights are over here...or what the law exactly states. So I doubt a dumbass constable or officer has it memorized either. They mostly follow orders, so "no tints" means "no tints" to them. I'm sure the clause states that the interior or passengers must be visible, if not, then it is illegal. Technically, if your vehicle has tints that are 25% -50% black/grey, you are still visible to people peeking in from the outside. I would find 100% really difficult to drive around in since the side mirrors and rear view are just impossible to see at night.
The problem isn't the law, it is the people who are suppose to enforce it. They misconstrue what is stated and then do as they please. Frankly speaking, I'm quite fed up with the state of affairs in this country and I'm only here because I have no better option. So its just another "khwari" to deal with on top of the load shedding and gas shedding. Wait till we have water problems..thats when life will get really fun...
