I would never advise baleno owners to water wash the engine,but if you use engine cleaners,they are pretty effective as i personally use them with out any issue.
Now the issue we were discussing.Your car's engine is a sealed container of controlled explosions. The engine requires air for combustion process, drawing it in through an air filter. Sometimes extra air enters into the system through a not firmly tight air filter hosing,generally it a sort of vaccum leaks. Vacuum leaks upset the air-to-fuel ratio and can cause air fuel ratio go lean,resulting in misfire, poor engine performance and changes in fuel economy.
On the other hand EGT (exhaust gas temp) gets affected with the lean air fuel ratio,that is the volume of air coming into the cylinder compared to the volume of fuel. A very lean mixture, that of too much air combining with a small amount of fuel, will cause the EGT to soar which is critical for the engine in long run.
Notice if engine idles at higer rpm than normal,this might be the reason.
To check whether engine is taking enough air from around filter box,keep tissue papers hanging all around the filter box,start the car,give it revs from the accelerator wire attached with throttle body,notice any movement of tissue papers around the filter box due to acceleration,filter box will suck air inward from its loose points.(desi test method)
i too am running my own car with damaged clips on air filter hosing,not getting the time to source a new.So that seems to me my personal problem:D

i am running baleno with its genuine air filter box. but its idle is a bit high and very slowly comes down. and when i switch on the AC there is no effect on RPM

if your air filter hosing is firmly tight and perfect,adjust your rpm at 900 to 1000 for petrol it should come down to 800 on cng.

well well............... i checked it....... n it had an air entry...... from the hole where 2 wires enter it........ have closed it by tissues n tape currently(will do something permanent after i open it)...... ll check the car in a while ...... but there was some entry obviously...... almost 1 x 1 cm circular opening .......

brother why you wanna ruin your car..
1.6 GTI is a beast but only if the engine is company fitted.
our mechanics dont even know how to fix a silencer properly or how to check cooling sysytem of car ie radiator and hoses :oso how can you expect them to do an engine swap properly:(
i would suggest not to even think abt it.

and another tip whatever work is required do it from 3S Suzuki dealership. Road side mechanics will ruin your car..
3S are a bit better than the road mechanics, cause they work on only suzuki cars..Buy the stuff (genuine) from open market and for replacing stuff go to 3S only. there is no good road side mechanic that is good, all would fiddle up with your car..

In Pakwheels baleno master thread they say that AAA workshop is a bit better than others:S, however believe me they are Crap.AAA workshop would loot you more than 3S, and the work done wont be of very good quality..
just a personal experience;)

go to near by junkyard of cars and get all the stuff you want,will not be an issue to find such goodies but will be costly because there would be less sellers who prefer to sale a grill rather whole dash but the lid for the central console might not be much costlier.

Have a look,i have used water on engine but it was too low in pressure just to remove the leftovers.

@ Skill... one more question for u... My cars engine sounds like a DIESEL engine.. even on idle or running.. while running when i reaches only on 3000 RPM it sounds like i am running it on 8000 RPM... engine is not smooth... it sounds so much...

My mechanic checked it and said that the problem my be with the Bearing of Power Pump Or timing bearing ETC... could u recognize any definite fault?
