Tips for Baleno

Fuel consumption depends on a lot of things...

your rout, engine's condition, air filter, spark plugs, tire size, driving style, petrol itself, etc.

My baleno jxr runs on petrol, CNG was fitted but removed by the previous owner. These days its giving very low mileage like around 5 with ac on all the time. Previously it used to give around 9 with ac. What am I suppose to do now?

It used to give around 9 on everything same. Air filter is recently change, plugs cleaned etc.. I am the only one who drive this car.. Any other problem in ur mind? Like something to be cleaned up??

I have baleno jxr 2005. These days it is giving lot of blue smoke. My mechanic says that the rings and pistons may need to be changed.

Can someone please tell me that how much following should cost:

Engine rings
Piston cost
Complete Engine Overhaul

Hi Baleno expert,
I have a challenge for you as I’ve gone all over Karachi to fix this.

1. My Baleno JXR has a distinct vibration around 2000-2500rpm which goes away as we go higher. At that point the engine start sounding like a diesel. What could it be.
2. That was the challenge, I’ve changed the radiator and the water body but the car keeps losing water. Mechanics say its ok, I don’t believe them

1- Check spark plug boot(plug cap or plug ki dandi in local term) for cracking or damages.

2- Check radiator cap/hose pipe/hose pipe connected to heater/metal pipe attached with water body for leakage.

Thanks, I would assume that would cause vibration across the range, but worth a try.

Which tyres are best for Baleno?
I need another suggestion I am currently using Michelin Certis 175/70/R13 but they have worn out now, I have Yokohama 808 165/80/R13 in stock (in mint condition) which I took off recently from a Imported Japanese car. Will they work?

Stock tyre size for baleno is 175/R13 or 175/R14

165/80/R13 not good on highways.

I need another suggestion I am currently using Michelin Certis 175/70/R13 but they have worn out now, I have Yokohama 808 165/80/R13 in stock (in mint condition) which I took off recently from a Imported Japanese car. Will they work?

165/80/R13 not good on highways.

For 1.6 gti stock size is 185/60/14. But 185/65/14 works really well

Stock Tyres for JXR are 175-70R13 and for JXL and Sports version are 185-65R14 ...165-80R13 should work fine but definately car would be bit unstable compared to 175 or 185. Btw Honda City up 2008 came with 165-80R13...

I have baleno 1999 GXI,It previously had backfire problem but after changing the coil issue is resolved.I am having an average of 70(without ac) in city with 50kg cylinder.I thing it is very low may be the reason would be that the air intake from exhaust is disconnected also the the air intake from throttle body to vavle has been sealed.I asked my mechanic why is this so he said that it has nothing to do cars fuel consumption.your views?????? moreover i recently bought this car.

It is less very less mileage...i get around 145Km w/o ac in the city...
Get your car CNG settings readjusted....
I assume that by exhaust pipe to intake you mean pipe from engine top cover to the air intake just before throttle body....that pipe should not be blocked but that would definitely not effect mileage to such an extent....there could be something else wrong too...

i have a lot of experience of using and maintaining baleno all types of balenos.its really a marvelous car of suzuki.but little diffferent to maintain from other cars.if u have some problems discuss with me on this forum.B-)

Mechanics said that the car is Mechanically in Excellent Condition. But not giving ideal mileage, Can any body suggest on this
I have changed Throttle, Fuel Injectors, Coils, Plugs etc but looks wastage of money.

9-10 km on petrol is good anyway. It won't give beyond 9-10. This is official mileage

If its on factory spec then it shud return 13km/l with sane driving habbits

use plugs NGK BKR6e instead of NGK BKR6e-11

i have jxl 2003 model.petrol. 75000km driven.
throttle body ki tikki ka problm tha.to mai ny change kr li.or plugs b change kr die.but aik prob hy.k car idle position par petrol ki smell deti hy.lekin ab ye prob.khud hi khtm ho gya hy.just aik prob hy.k cylincer sy whuz whuz type ki awaz ati hy thori thori daer k bad.driving k waqt car koi prob.ni krti.just jb start kr k cylincer chk kro to awaz ati hy.
