Asaalam Alikum I have suzuki Baleno model 1999 just bought 2 nd hand I am facing same issue especially in second gear while A/c is on it misses a lot on 2nd gear while the A/c is off it work perfectly can any one suggest it's solution pls.

wsalam, get its tappet adjusted from 3s dealership. Also change spark plugs and clean throttle body. Make sure air filter box is tight.
If you are using cng, then increase cng intake.

Can anybody plz advise for how many Kms non genuine timing belt would be fine after how many Kms it should be changed. Thanks.

i ll check in the manual, but i guess its 60k KM in line as per most engine with timing belts

1.6 is available abundantly but prices have gone high. Almost 1.5 lacs for complete setup here in Islamabad

mostly, kabuli available stock is g15, only a few are g16...

being a user of g16b in 1.6Gti, the engine is strong, can take a lot of beating, its really quick, i have beaten almost every car of it era except civic, which has VTEC advantage.

it has a few lesser sensors as compared to g13, both notorious crank and cam sensors are missing, as it has disti so ecu takes signal from disti..

being bigger displacement, fuel consumption is not as good as g13 within city, however on motorway it gets better than g13

original 1.6gti has vented brakes to take care of bigger engine. Also suspension parts are a bit beefed up, however g13 part also do fit in but structs and springs are stronger in comparison..

so if one plan to swap in g16 in 2004jxr, will gear/suspension/ecu remain same or what? g13 and g16 share same belts/waterpump etc?

Gear and ECU will need to be changed.

U need to change the wiring, ECU as g16 has disti as compared to coils over plugs...
Better to get uncut wiring with engine...
Compressor is also.a bit bigger its a 5 piston denso unit.
U shud also upgrade brakes ansld go for vented disk in front..
Am.not sure abt gear, i guess both share same gear

SO I got the timing belt changed this time the genuine one 5700 is the cost. however now there's a humming sound from the belt cover and the mechanic said it will go away after few hundred Kms. Any thoughts on this.

shud not b there, plz check the belt cover properly installed, belt properly torqued, i hope u also changed tensioner as well

Yes timing bearing has been changed too. Is there any possibility that new bearing has not been installed correctly because to me sound is more like a rough bearing. If thats the case then all the work has to be done again, and can it be fixed by re-installing the same bearing?

AOA. I have bought Baleno JXR 2005 last month. I am facing problems to find it’s parts. Front seats railing, power pump and kangi, RPM dropping issue. Plz let me know from where I can get the parts and RPM dropping issue or any good Baleno mechanic in Lahore. JazakAllah

usually the timing cover plastic one hits and creates sounds like failure of bearing. have a look at this also. happened with me
