Even in low gears,your car doesnot warm up?
In winter car takes a little more time in warming up as idle but in low gear slow driving it should get the optimum level of heat.
To check the thrmostat valve,start your car in morning and hold the radiator hose pipe,if the pipe starts getting warm before the needle touches the mid mark it means you dont have the thrmostat valve.
Cost you about 300 rs if you buy a new one.
To avoide engine wear you must have the valve installed,will benefit you in long run.
You know every metal particle have the tendency to expand upon heating so are the piston made of silver expands and seals tight to the walls of cylender liners because of which unburnt fuel substances cant seep into your engine liners and resultantly your rings are themselves safe beside making liner damage aswell and over more no extra loss of fuel giving you good everage.The seepage of fuel through liners also affect the engine oil in the sump.
