on margalla road : yes,, the water does rise up to about 2 feet at some plaes..
but the new underpasses were very clear... i was comming back from pir suhawa early morning 14th august.. about 1:am ..just when i touched margalla road.. there was plenty of water... no car made its way through that water... just a 2004 Surf made it..with the water almost touching its headlights...
then i went through the underpass..and that road was clear...
if you face a situaion where you have to go through water.. then you must have a very good idea of the depth of the water..and the height of your car...
if the water level is going to be below your cars exaust pipe.... and is not doing to touch the engine from the bottom.. then you can very easily cross no matter wat car you have.. all you need to do is just creep through the water.. and make sure the tyres dont throw the water on tho the engine... if you drive real slow.. it is not going to happen...keep the car in first gear.. and do not accelerate...
one more important thing... you should be sure that there is clear road beyond the water which you are going to cross... coz if you are in the middle..and you come to know that the water is only getting deeper..then you could be in trouble...cos you were not prepared...
if you have to cross water which is above your exaust pipes height.. then there are a number of things you need to take care of...
you should turn off the airconditioning.. so that the radiator fans stop... if your radiators fans are belt driving.. you can take the belt off(this is done with jeeps when crossing rivers...).. keep the engine reving high.. like 3 to 4 thousand atleast .keep the . make sure that you dont have a low air intake pipe... (if modified)..
cross the water at a constant slow speed dont change gears....
and most of all ...keep praying to god and dont stop in the middle...
always try to figure out the side which has less water...
and do not try to show off to other drivers... keep your hazards on as long as you are crossing the water...
and do not panic...
