the base unit of a central lock controller is sold in Karachi as a locally made unbranded unit in 3 different qualities, All of them worked OK and they were universal so they fit in every car with electric central locking and moment switch motors on the latches.
The highest quality had a molex plug on it with a nice screwed on casing, the lowest quality had 8 or 9 wires sticking out of it and a cheaply made plastic housing. - All made locally in co-operative market etc. They worked great as long as you didnt drown them in water. The shops that sold them are in chaat gali in plaza or the first lane from the overhead bridge which leads to quite a large oil seal dealer, there is a tiny shop selling decoration parts for taxis etc, they have had them.
For power windows, if the wiring is original, then make sure to test all connections for voltage drop and other wear and tear like jammed motors, water flooded wiring, corroded connectors and broken wires from the door to the pillars. Usually in power window motors their internal circuit breakers trip or are severely corroded, you can bypass them internally if you like but its not advisable as its a very high torque motor.
The rest is basic common sense - like using a water proof grease in the window mechanism and silicone grease in the rubber sliders, generic alignment etc.
Usually 99% of the morons doing this job in Karachi only do it to make a quick buck from you. You need to find a dedicated person or do it yourself. - I have redone a lot of power window and sunroof systems - its not a cheap and quick repair in any sense.
