Honda City if prosmatec put it in L and turns should be large at bends and u will go all good uptil Monal but be very careful about oncoming traffic. 5 passengers as well no problem.

I have..the 1.3 manual with changed tyres feels like flying to monal....it is an amazing experience....you should try it...

Put it in 1 or 2... On steep heights and turns put it in 1.

Go up in D. Come down in either 2 or 1 to provide adequate engine braking

Agreed. 1.5 me D would be sufficient. 1.3 me shaid lower gears me ana pre. I travelled to monal in 1.8 in D and didn’t need to take RPM for more than 2000 max.
Downhill engine braking is fun

Went to highland resort once in 1.3 manual city
No issues at all
And you should highland resorts also.
It's about 30 mints from monal

City 1.3 auto uphill max time 15mins
And downhill 12mins.
But since I was pulling out power from the car and I found out city being light, looses traction real bad.
So please give respect to the corners in city.

Civic has some good balance and weight, it can be throttled downhill due to its greater balance and good brakes.

And if you just consider it like in simple words that will city 1.3 auto make it? I would say yes it will. I won't be using the word easily here.
It can go to Highland too.

Plus 1.5 manual used to spin wheels on top corners of monal. It has some serious power. If compared with city 1.3 A/t

I traveled many times on my aspire 1.5 manual with 3 to 4 persons.no issues at all. 1.5 manual have massive power its just fun to drive.

I went uphill on Honda City Aspire 1.5 PT.

I never tried "D" but I used "1" and "2" with high RPM.

4 heavy weight passengers were onboard. I felt like I should use "1" and "2".

Do you think "D" was worth trying in this scenario?

I think "D" mode would require high RPM, that means extra pressure on engine.

Highland Country Club after the entrance is quite steep.
Been there on aspire 1.5 MT...
You have to use 1st gear to reach there.

If the car is taking load then it’s better to keep it in low gears instead of D.

Drove on last weekend all the way upto Highland Country Club on my new City 1.3 PT. Didn't even changed the gears on the Monal road and used D all along the way. Only on the Highland road (after the Highland checkpost) i put it in 1 and the car climbed without any heavy acceleration with 5 persons on board. Loved the experience

I have seen 660cc cars up at highland country club. Any car mechanically fit can go there

It is better to shift in 2 for steep climb like Monal road.
If you drive in D the car will upshift on releasing the gas pedal on turns and will downshift when youll press the pedal again for power. Therefore it will be searching for gears all along your climb which is not at all healthy for the transmission.

CVT cars can remain in D for uphill.
